This invention relates to certain improvements in carrying cases and it is primarily forth.
an object of "the invention "to provide a device of th s general character whlch provides :a-combination camera box and vanity box.
Another object of the invention .is to provide a novel and improved device of this general character comprising twolhingedly connected sections, one of saidsections carrying a camera and the other of said sections 1 being adapted to contain toilet and other articles of 'a type desired by females.
An additional object of .the invention .is to provide a -novel and improved device of this general character which, in addition to" containing a camera, is provided with compartments .tolreceive articles of different types.
1 The invention consists in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts of my improved carrying casewhereby certain important advantages are attained and the device rendered simpler, less expensive and otherwise more convenientand advantageous for use, as will be hereinafter more fully set The novel features of my invention will hereinafter be definitely claimed.
In order that imy .invention may be the better understood, I will now proceed to describe the same with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a view in perspective of a carryingcase constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention, with the sections thereof in relative open position and the interior doors also in open position;
Figure 2 is a view in perspective on a reduced scale of my improved case as herein employed, with the sections thereof closed;
Figure 3 is a sectional view taken substantially on the line 3-3 of Figure 1 looking in the direction of the arrows;
Figure A is a sectional view taken substantially on the line 44 of Figure 1 looking in the direction of the arrows; the front door -for the camera being diagrammatically indicated in open position by broken lines;
Figure 5 is a transverse sectional view taken through the central portion of Figure 4 with the camera diagrammatically illus trated in open position; 7
I Figure 6 is an enlarged detail sectional view taken substantially on the line 66 of Figure 3.
As disclosed in the accompanying drawlngs, my improved case comprises two sections A and B having an exterior covering 1 of leather or other suitable materiah The sections A-and 'Bhave adjacent longitudinal .portions hingedly connected in .a conventional manner so that the same .may be readily :swung into open or closed position. When closed position the sections A and B are held in such relation .by coactingl looking .means of a conventional type as indicated at 2. V i i 'The section Aisprovided with :a pair of longitudinally disposed ,partitions' .3 in desired spaced relation, and, between which is fitted camera-C] of a conventional type. The camera C is {21.180 snugly engaged "between the transverse [partitions A interposed be tween the partitions 5 denotes .an inside door for the-camera and is provided witha windovvb for visual access to the film within the camera :for a well known purpose.
The outer face wall .ofthe casing A is provided with an opening :6 normally closed by a hinged door 7 said door 7 when open .per-
mittingthe requisite extension :of the bellows 8 of the camera to obtain the requisite focus. The door 7 .is maintained in closed position in :a conventional manner by a push button 9 carried by -.one of the partitions 3, said partition constituting a shelf. The partition or shelf 3 has projecting therebeyond the winder 10 whereby the film within the camera may be shifted as desired.
Between one of the partitions 4L and the adjacent end wall of the section A is a compartment 11 in which is adapted to be placed an extra film roll, said compartment being closed by the swinging door 12, the door 12 is herein shown as provided with a pull 14 to facilitate its opening.
Interposed between the second partition 4 and the'adjacent end wall of the section A is provided a supplemental partition 15 whereby the compartments 16 are provided. These compartments 16 are adapted to have applied therein calling cards, a memordandum book or the like.
Between the outer side wall of the section A and the adjacent partition 3 is provided nature may also be housed within the container 17.
The container 17 is adapted to be closed by the door 19 hingedly connected in a conventional manner with the outer marginal portion of the associated partition 8, said door being held in closed position by the snap fastener 20. The door 19 is also provided with a pull 21 whereby the same may be readily moved into open posit-ion.
The outer face of the door 19 has suitably applied thereto a mirror 22 wherebythe use of the device is facilitatedand especially in view of the fact that the mirror 22 is of a relatively large size. With the inner door 5 in open position and the door 19 also swung outwardly into an open position, the
The section B is further provided with a bag 26 in which suitable articles may be placed.
The hingedly connected side walls of the sections A and B are provided at their outer corners withxthe headed members 27 upon which the case is adapted to be rested. The outer faces of the sections A and'B also have secured thereto the carrying straps or handles 28.
H From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that a carrying case constructed in accordance with my invention 'is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and operated,
and it will also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without departing from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do not wish 'to be understood as limiting myself tothe precise arrangementand for- -mation of the several parts herein shown in carrying out my invention in practice except as vhereinafter claimed.
. I claim A carrying case of the class described comwhen closed being opposed, a third door 00- acting with the inner face of said section for closing part of the remaining portion of said inner face of the section, said laist named door swinging in a direction toward the second door, the outer face of the last named door being provided with a reflecting surface,.the second named door having ,swin in movement in a direction awa from the last named door. In testimony whereof I hereunto aflix my signature. I
