vUNITED STATES HENRY F. ALBERS, yOF LAKEWOOD, OHIO."
SUPPORTING BRACKET.
Application filed February 23, 19263. Serial N o. 90,079.
. This invention relates to new andA usefulimprovements in supporting brackets and more particularly in combination soap dish and drinking glass holder .attachments for faucet fixtures especially of the type combining hot and cold water Valves with a.
, drlnklng glass holder to be lifted oif post 1() .common swivel spout.
An object of the invention is to provide an improved compact bracket structure for separably and detachably mounting the soap dish and drinking glass holder on the faucet, presenting a neat and attractive appearance and allowing easy removal of the so-apV dish for cleansing. Other objects and features of.
v the invention will be hereinafter pointed out and described.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a front elevation yof a sink faucet with the soap'dish-and drinking glas holder attachment applied.
ure 1. Y i
vFigure 3 is a detail View of the bracket.
Figure 4 is a section online 4 4 of Fig. 3. Now referring specifically to the drawings, 5 indicates generally the sink faucet comprising hot and cold water 'valves 6 .and 7 and connected outlet body 8 with swivel.y
spout 9. f.
The soap dish 15 of porcelain or other Suitable material and bracket structure are supported by a post 10 centrally mounted by means of .stud 11 thereof screw threaded into the top of body` 8. y
The `upper portion of post 10 is tapered as at 12, grooved at 13 andfterminates in a reduced slotted endl 14 adaptedto receive the soap dish supporting base 17 having'internal grooves 18 interlocking with grooves 13, preventing the soapv dish from turning, and a bore 19 frictionally receiving slotted.` end 14, preventing accidental displacement while allowing the soap dish to be lifted off the Apost independent of bracket 20, for cleans- 45 ing. Y
' Figure 2 isa section on line 2 2 of Fig -from the spirit and lscope ofthe appended The bracket structure 20 has a socket 21 for receiving base 17-therein` and a tapered bore 22 frictionally seating on tapered por-l Y tion 12 of post 10 preventing the bracket from readilyturning thereon. This stru'c- 5o ture permits the bracket 2O carrying the for cleansing together with the soapv dish, or,
after first removing the soap dish separately.
The substantially ring shaped extension' 23 55 of the bracket has an opening 24 permitting the soapy water from the soap dish drain 16 to drop therethrough into the sink. y A post 25 mounted centrally at the rear of extension 23 byvmeans Vofscrew 26 supports 60 i the drinking glass holder of porcelain or other suitable `material secured thereto by screw 30.- A rubber cushion 28 isinterposed s between holder-29` and postl 25,the post hav-` ing an enlarged cupped end 27 for retaining 65 the cushion. f y f The attachment shown provides a durable,` compact, neat and eiicient structure that may be economically manufactured.
l/Vhile I have shown and described one em'- '10 l bodiment of my invention, obviously various changes may be made in the details of construction of the parts -without departing claim. 75
I claim Y A fixture of the kind described, comprising a supporting post adapted to be attached to a faucet` or the like, the post vhaving* aslotted' end, ak socket fitting upon the upperendy of v the post and having a bore kinto which the slottedxend of the posteXtends with friction contact, `a soap holder, and a base plug on the soap holder fitting in theupper end of the socket. f Y 85 ture.
