PRIZE-GAME'IDEVICE.

This invention relates to prize game devices, auch as used tor an'iusement and diversion ot the mind, the invention having more particular reterence to a prize game device of simple construction and novel arrangen'ient o t parts.

The invention has for an object the provision of a prize game device adapted to use balls ot two different sizes, so as to increase the amount ot pleasure which may be derived.

For further comprehension oit the invention, and ot the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accon'ipanying drawings, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features ol the invention are more particularly set toi-th.

As here embodied my improved prize game comprises a box or container consisting ot a. base member 10, ot rect-angular shape, and provided with sides 11 and 12, lower eud 15% and an upper end 111-. The base member 10, has attached thereto, at or near its upper end 1,4, a supporting member 15, so as to incline the said box. A raised member 16, a block or the like, is provided in, and attached to the upper portion ot the box, and has attached thereto strips 1T, lougitudinally positioned and suitably spaced, so as to provide stalls for the balls 18 and 19, which are oit relatively (lilerent sizes or diameters. The raised member 1G is boveled, as at 20, at its forward edge. The projecting mei'nbers 20, are attached to, and extend upward trom the upper surl'ace ot' the base member 10.

the basev member 10, and extend upward therefrom, and are positioned adjacent to the forward beveled edge 20, ot the raised member 16, so as to provide a space to accommodate the gate member 21, the gate member 21 being positioned so as to normall)Y hold or retain the balls 18 and 19 in the Vraid stalls. The flexible members 22 and 23 areattached, at one extremity to the gate member 21', and are extended through common hook eyes 24 and 25, respectively, attached to the extended extremities ot the upright members 21. The flexible members 22 and 2.23 are attached to the flexible mem ber which extended through hook eyes similar to ,the above mentioned, and which are attached to the upper end 1&1 and to the side 12 of the said box. The flexible member 2li, is attached at its other extremity7 to the slide 26, which is provided with tapered edges, as a means of slidably mounting the slide 2G in the guide bars 27, which are suitably shaped to accommodate the slide r26, and which are attached to the side 12 ot the said box, adjacent to the forward end thereof. The slide 26 is provided with a knob 28, or handle, and has formed therein, adjacent to the side 12 of the said box, a recess 2.9, adapted to be engaged by the enlarged heads 32, ot the plungers 30 and 31, which are slidably mounted in suitable apertures located in the said side 12, and which are urged outwardly by compression springs 33, located in the said apertures and positioned below the said enlarged heads 32, the latter described construction being such as will permit the slide 26, when pulled, or slid along the side 12 ot the said box, to permit the plunger` 30 to engage the recess 2S), so as to allow the smaller size balls 19 to be released from the said stalls, by the raising o'l the gate member 21, and which will permit the larger size balls 18 to be released when the slide 26 is again pulled forward, so that the plunger 31 engages in the recess 29.

Raised members 3d and 35, block or the like, are attached to the lower portion of the base member 10, and are provided with a tapered forward edge 36 and 37, so as to divert the balls 1S and 19 which have been released, into the. passage 38, between the said raised members 34 and 35. A similar passage, 39, is formed in the base member 10, below the irst mentioned passage 38, and is ot somewhat smaller size, so as to accommodate the smaller size balls 19. The raised member 35 has formed therein elongated slots to slidably accommodate the slides 41, which are provided with knobs 42 or handles. The slides 41 are positioned in the raised member 35, so as to provide stalls or spaces 'for the said balls 18 and 19, when same are released, as above set `lorth and described, when the slides 41 are slid outwardly from the raised member 35 against the raised member 34.

In Fig. 5 oi the accompanying drawings, the upper portion of the base member 10, is enlarged, as at also as to allow an ncreased number of longitudinal strips 17 to be attached to the raised member 16, so as to provide an increased number of stalls, allowing a larger number ot balls 18 and 19 to be used, which will add to the enjoyment of my improved game.

Referring in particular to the rules or method ot playing my improved game, the balls used are numbered consecutively, and are placed in the stalls provided at the upper end ot the box, which are similarly numbered, that is, the player is bound by the rules to place ball #l in stall #1, ball .#:Q in stall #2, etc. The player will choose any three numbers which are placed on the larger and smaller balls, the smaller balls are released` as hereinbefore set forth. It is obvious that the projecting members on the base member will cause the balls to assume entirely dillerent courses down the inclined base member. The lower stalls are numbered, consecutively7 l. 2 and 3, preferably. Aand should the balls `chosen by the player roll into the said lower stalls, prizes are awarded to the player. lIhe larger balls are then released, and are similarly rolled down the inclined base member and further prizes are awarded under similar conditions. The value of the prizes may vary depending upon which balls enter which stalls. For example, should a player pick ball #l from upper stall #1, and this ball enters lower stall #1, this may be considered as claiming the largest prize, while if this ball should enter one ol the other stalls it may be considered as claiming a smaller prize.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent ol" the United States is as follows:

1. In a prize game device of the class de scribed, a gate member positioned so as to normally retain balls in stalls provided to accommodate the said balls, and a means ol raising the said gate member so as to release first smaller balls, and then larger balls therefrom, said means comprising a slide connected to the said gate member, said slide slidably mounted in guide bars, a reeessiormed in the said slide :ulapi'ed to be engaged by a plunger aud a second plunger, said plungers being urged forward by springs.

In a prize game device ot the class de scribed, raised members attached to the lower portion of a base member.` said raised members provided with tapered forward edges so as to divert balls into a passage 'toi-med between the said raised members, a second passage formed in the said base member below the first mentioned passage. `elongated slots formed in the said raised member to slidably accommodate slides, said slides positioned in the said raised member so as to provide stalls for the said balls.
