AUTOIWATIG CIGARETTE CASE.

Application filed April 14, 1926. Serial No. 101,991.

The present invention relates to a ciga circumstance.

A still further very important object of the invention resides in the provision of a case of this nature which is exceedingly simple in its construction, inexpensive to manufacture, eflicient and. reliable in its operation, not likely to easily become out of order, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.

With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resldes 1n certain novel features of construction, and 1n the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed. I

7 Referring to the drawing in detail, it will be seen that the numeral 5 designates the case generally which is provided at one end with a hinged closure 6 and at the other end with a match box holder 7. Apertured ears 8 project from onewall of the casing 5 so that fastening elements may be passed therethrough for mounting the device on a dash board or any other suitable support. A pair of openings 9 are provided in one end wall adjacent thebottom thereof and-have outwardly and upwardly projecting ledges 10 associated therewith. A toothed wheel 18 is mounted on a shaft F 1.9 journaled in the bottom and terminating in an exteriorly disposed knob 20. This toothed wheel 18 meshes with the teeth 17 of the ejectors so that one end is disposed forwardly and the other rearwardly, as is clearly shown in Fig; 3.

When the e ectors are disposed rearwardly the upwardly disposed extensions 16 are positioned in the housing extensions 11. The other end wall is provided with a slot 22 similar to the slot 11'. An agitator 23 has reduced ends slidable in said slots 11' and 22. The lower edge ofthe agitator 22 is provided with teeth 23 while the upper edge thereofis irregular as is indicated at 24. An arm 25 projects laterally from the ejector 15 and terminates in a hump 26 for engaging the teeth 23.

It will thus be seen that when the wheel 18 is rotated, one of the 'ejectors will move forwardly and the other rearwardly, and

that as the ejector 15 is moved the hump 26' engages the teeth 23 and will excite the agitator so as to move the same up and down and agitate the cigarettes in the case. The

ejector which is moving forwardly ejects a cigarette out of corresponding opening 9,

while the ejector which is moving rearwardly will dispose its upstanding extension 16 in the housing extension 11 so that a cigarette may fall thereon to be ejected the next time the toothed wheel 18 is rotated.

It is apparentv that the cigarettes are placed in the casing by opening closure 6, which is normally held closed by a catch 28.

It is thought that the construction, operation, utility, and advantages of my invention will now be clearly understood by those skilled in this art Without a more detailed description thereof. The present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in detail merely by Way of example, since in actual practice it attains the features ot-advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description. It is apparent thatchanges in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement or parts may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention ashereinafterclaimed. or sacrificing "any of its advantages.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is 1. A device of the class described including a casing, a pair'ot ejec'tors sl-idab'le on the bottom of the casing, said ejector's having teeth on their adjacent side edges, a toothed wheel rotatable'o'n the bottomof the casing and meshing with the teeth of the ej'ectors, means for rotating the wheel, one end of the casing being provided with a pair V of openings, one for each ejector, upstanding extensions on the e ectors, the ends of said casing being provided with vertical slots, an agitator extending longitudinally of thecasing having its ends sli-dable in said slots, the lower edge of said agitator being provided with teeth, an arm projecting from one of the ejeoto'rs and terminating in a humpfor engaging the teeth of the agitator so as 'to' excite said agitator when the last mentioned ejector'is moved.
