My invention relates to improvements in building constructions, and it consists in the combinations, constructions, and arrangementsherein described and claimed.
In forming the ceilings and floors of buildings where concrete is employed, it has been the practice to suspend wires from the reinforcingmembers embedded in the concrete, these wires being secured to what is commonly known as pencil rods. The rods in turn are then secured to a metal lath by wires, and to this lath the plaster is subsequently applied.
It is obvious thatthis construction prerents the pencil rods from being disposed in parallel relation, unless great care is taken in disposing the supporting Wires inv proper position. A second disadvantage from this construction lies in the fact that it takes considerable time to secure the wires to the reinforcing means and then to the pencil rods.
The principal object of the invention 1s to overcome these disadvantages and other disadvantages hereinafter pointed out, and to this end I provide what I term hangers which may be partially embedded in the concrete, these hangers having novel means for supporting the pencil rods and for permitting the pencil rods to be disposed substantially parallel with respect to each other, and be spaced apart any distance desired.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the type described which cuts down the time in securing What is called the furring to the ceiling.
Other objects and advantages Wlll appear in the following specification, and the novel features of the invention will be particularly ponited out in the appended claims.

The hangers 4 form my invention, while the shoring l and the forms 2 form no part of my invention except in so far-as they cooperate with my invention. ure 2, I show the construction of the hangers 4. The nails 10 prevent movement of the hanger toward the forms 2, while staples 11 prevent movement of the hangers in the opposite direction. It will be also noted that the staples straddle the nails 10. This construction prevents the longitudinal movement of the hangers. The hangers are supported in the position shown in Figure 3, and it will be noted that the openings 5 are positioned above the tops of the forms 2 where they will receive the concrete when it is poured.

shown in Figure 1, and the legs of the pans rest upon the upper surfaces of the forms for permitting concrete to fall down between the pans and rest upon the forms 2. Prior to the pouring of-the cement, reinforcing members, not shown, may be laid upon the tops of the pans. The concrete is now poured and partially embeds the hangers 4. The portions ofthe hangers having the row of openings 7 therein are exposed, and when the shoring and the forms are removed, these portions may carry the pencil rods 8. The openings 7 are spaced very close together.

I claim:
1. A device of the type described comprising forms for supporting concrete flooring while said fiooring is hardening, hangers having a plurality of relatively large openings and a plurality of relatively small openings therein, means cooperating With said forms for holding said hangers While said flooring is hardening, said hangers being positioned so as to become embedded in the concrete flooring, and the relatively large openings being filled With concrete, and pencil rods removably disposed in the relatively small openings.
