PATENT OFFICE.
SIMON E. LOI-IN, OF GEORGEVILLE, MINNESOTA.
ADJUSTABLE SHOW-CARD HOLDER AND DISPLAY STAND.
Application filed February 2, 1924. Serial No. 690,248.
This invention relates to a card holder and display stand, the general object of the invention being to provide an adjustable holder so that different sizes of cards can be displayed with means for holding various articles at the top of the stand when desired.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the sev eral views, in which Figure 1 is a View showing the device used as a card holder.
Figures 2 and 3 are detail views of the card holding means.
Figure 4 is a view showing the device used for displaying merchandise or the like.
Figures 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are views showing various forms of holders which may be used with the device.
Figure 10 is a View showing how the de vice can be used without the extension piece.
In these views, 1 indicates a base and 2 indicates an upright which is preferably formed of channel-shaped material with its flanges rounded. The bent lower end of this upright is suitably fastened to the base, as shown at 3. A telescopic extension member a is provided for the member 2 and the upper end of this member 4 is formed to provide a spring clip 5 for holding the top of a card or the like. A clip 6 is formed on a slide 7 which engages the upright 2 so that the two clips act to hold a card, such as shown at A, upon the device and as both the clips are adjustable it will be seen that different sizes of cards can be displayed by the device. By turning the member 4 upside down and placing any one of a plurality of Wire pieces 8 in its upper end, articles of various kinds can be. displayed on the device. formed of wire and may be formed of any desired shape though each one must be provided with a loop 9 for engaging the open end of either the piece 2 or the piece 4. Cards bearing the price of the articles displayed or other data can be held on the stand by either the clip 6 or the clip 5.
The figures show the various ways the de vice can be used and some of the forms of merchandise holders which can be used with the device.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
l vhat I claim is A display device of the character described comprising a base, an upright rising centrally therefrom and being formed of channel shaped material with its longitudinal flanges rounded upon themselves, an extension member mounted for telescopically slidable movement in the upright, and a plurality of holders'each formed of wire and having a looped part so that the holders can be inserted in the open end of either channel shaped member.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
SIMON E. LOHN.
