My invention relates to improvements in games and more particularly to a game board hereinatter disclosed as the specilications proceed.

rIhe object oi' this invention is to provide a gaine which requires considerable skill to be played and adapted to be played by a number of players.

Another object is to provide a game similar to that of horse shoe, that may be played in doors.

A further object is to provide a game board, with suitable racks tor the game pieces, when not in use by the players.

Also, another object is to provide the game board with suitable racks for the counting chips used therewith. Y

Other objects that might be mentioned, is that of having an irregular ligure about the stakes, that the game pieces resting thereon, will aiiord additional counts to the players.

The invention resides in the combination and arrangements ol parts and in the details ot construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being` understood thatchanges in the precise enibodiment of the invention here disclosed can be made, within the scope ot what is claimed without departing from the spirit ot the invention.

In reference to the accompanying drawing Fig. l, represents a plan View of the game board; Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section taken on the line 9.-2 of Fig. l; Fig. 8 is a plan view on one-of the game pieces; Fig. Ll is the side elevation ot a game piece; Fig. 5 is a vertical section taken on the line 5-5 ot' Fig. l, showing the chips or counter rack; Fig. 6 is a vertical section, showing the end elevation of the game piece rack.

In the embodiment illustrated a board l is shown which may be of any suitable or desired material, having a vertical flange around the edge thereof. The board l, is shown provided with the stakes 3, protruding vertically above the plane of the board and secured thereto, although the game may be played and enjoyed with but one such stake as herein shown.

The game pieces 4, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4 are to be placed back of the pitching line 5, that is farthest from the objective stake 3.

I prefer to snap the pieces l `with the iinger,` however, they may be thrown or. tossed toward the stake 3. The object being to encircle the stake 3 to gain the highest count. However if after a number of players have snapped or tossed their respect-ive game pieces 4L, none have encircled the stake, the one closest thereto is given the highest counts. For additional interest I have provided an irregular ligure 6, representing a lariat, about the stake 3, and any game piece resting thereon is given a small count. For purpose of clarity, I might state that a game piece encircling the stake counts five, while pieces resting nearest the stake counts three, and a piece resting upon the irregular Figure '6 would count the player one. After the play has been made each player is allowed to take from the rack 7, the chips 8, corresponding to the number of points made by the respective players. The chips 8, may be colored diliierently in each compartment 12, to assist the players in counting the game. I have preferred to show the chips 8, in the followA ing colors, red, blue and green.

In Figure l, I show the rack 9 for the game pieces. In Fig. 6 you will note under cut l0 ot the rack 9 permitting the game pieces to be passed on from the end. It is apparent that while the game pieces are so reposed, it by accident the board should be overturned the pieces would remain on the rack. Fig. 2 shows the game pieces l in their normal positions. 4

From the above description, it will be obvious that a game board constructed as de` scribed will amuse the players.

Thus having described my invention, what is new and novel and what I desire to secure by .Letters Patent is:

1. In combination with a game board adapted for use with separable game pieces, a rack mounted on and projecting upwardly from said board, said rack comprising a base, a constricted portion projecting upwardly from said base; and a head mounted on said constricted portion, said head being provided with a plurality of transversely eX- tending notches formed therein.

2. In combination with a game board adapted for use with separable substantially U-shaped gaine pieces, an elongated rack mounted on said board and comprising a base; a. neel; projecting` upwardly from said 5 base to provide a eonstricted portion; and a head mounted on said neck, provided with a plurality of transversely extending notches on the upper surface thereof, adapted for the reception of said gaine pieces when noty in use.
