It will be understood that the slide bolts are movable longitudinally only, while the switch points are of course fmovable laterally of the track rails, and therefore the switch points are engaged by a 'selective or alternate pair of notches or recesses of the slide bolts depending upon the position of the switch points.
Having thus fully described my invention,
what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- 1. The combination with a pair of laterally movable switch points v,and track rails, of a pair of longitudinally' movablerslide bolts guided, at the outer sides by said track rails and provided with guides at their inner sides, saidslide bolts each having a pair of recesses for alternate engagement with said points, and means for simultaneously actuatingsaid bolts.
2. The combination with a pair of longitudinally slidable lock-bolts each having a pair of spaced recesses for alternate engagement with switch points, of means for suporting and guiding said bolts, a tie rod etween the bolts, and lever operated mechanism for actuating said bolts.
3. The combinatlon with a ally movable switch rails an and tie plates secured beneath the rails, of a pair o slide bolts having pairs of recesses for alternate engagement with said switch air of latertrack rails rails. said bolts guided at one side by the track rails, guide flanges at the inner sides of said bolts and guide devices for co-action therewith on said tie plates, a tie rod connecting said Vbolts and lever operated mechanism for actuating said bolts.

The pivoted lever 18 is connected to a link 19 and rock shaft 2O journaled in bearings 21 secured to one of the ties and extending under one of the track rails to aproximately the center of the track Where it is connected by a crank arm 22 thereon and a link 23 to the tie rod 17 of the slide bolts.
In Figure 2 by dotted lines the lock is shown in open position and it will be apparent that by turning the lever 18 to the dotted position at the right` the slide bolts are withdrawn from the switch points in order that the switch throwing mechanism ma be operated to throw the switch. Agter the switch is thrown the lever 18 is turned from dotted position to full line position to cause engagement with the switch points of another pair of notches or recesses of the slide bolts. It will be understood that the slide bolts are movable longitudinally only, While the switch points are of course `movable laterally of the track rails, and therefore the switch points are engaged by a selective or alternate air of notches or recesses of the slide bolts depending upon the position of the switch points.
Having thus fully described my invention,
what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- 1. The combination with a pair of laterally movable switch points and track rails, of a pair of longitudinally movable slide bolts guided, at the outer sides by said track rails and provided with guides at their inner sides, said slide bolts each having a pair of recesses for alternate engagement with said points, and means for simultaneously actuating said bolts.
The combination with a pair of longitudinally slidable lock-bolts each having n pair of spaced recesses for alternate engagement with switch points, of means for suporting and guiding said bolts, a tie rod ietween the bolts, and lever operated mechanism for actuatin said bolts.
3. The combination with a pair of laterally movable switch rails and track rails and tie plates secured beneath the rails, of a pair o slide bolts having pairs of recesses for alternate engagement with said switch rails. said bolts guided at one side by the track rails` guide flanges at the inner sides of said bolts and guide devices for co-action therewith on said tie plates, a tie rod connecting said bolts and lever operated mechanism for actuating said bolts.
