GAME.

This` invention is an improvement in games, and more particularly in devices for indicating the relative position of possible winners.

A primary object of the invention is the provision of a simple and inexpensive device of the character in question having means to conceal a plurality of similar game pieces, while they are mixed or shuilied, and means to display a selected number in selected order, aft-er the mixing or shuling.

Another object is the provision in such a device ofmechanism for holding in storage game pieces not in use, whereby different selections of game pieces may be utilized in games.

With these and other objectsin view, the invention consists in the construction and novel combination of parts fully described hereinafter, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claims appended hereto,A it being understood that various changes in the form, proportion, size and minor details of construction within the scope of the claims, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the present embodiment of the invention, the improved game device consists of4 an inner member in the form of a container, having openings for the removal and insertion of ame pieces, an outer member for closing t e openings, and for covering the major portion of the container, together with a number of game pieces. The inner member is preferably of transparent material as for instance glass, while the outer member or cover is of opaque material, and designed to conceal the greater portion of the inner member when in place.

The inner member is substantially bottle shaped, comprising a body 1, which may be of any cross sectional shape, preferably oval, and a reduced neck 2 having its outerend closed as indicated at 3, to form a narrow chamber of a length to receive a file of a selected number of game pieces. A partit1on 4 is arranged transversely of the container intermediate the ends thereof, and somewhat farther from the neck end than from the other end.

The partition divides the interior of the container into two chambers, one for containing the game pieces in use, and the other for containing those not in use. One wall of the container is provided with openings 5 and 6, one on each side of the partitlon, and preferably of oval shape as shown, to permit access to the chambers. A plurahty of game pieces 7 of spherical form is held in the chambers.

Each of these game pieces, ofwhich any number may be used, as for instance twenty,

is provided in a plurality of places with a numeral 8 or set of numerals, the same numeral or set of numerals being provided in any suitable manner on each game piece. The numerals or sets of numerals are so arrange-d on each game piece, that whatever the position of the game piece, one of the numerals or one of the sets will be in readable position, and the game pieces are numbered consecutively, as for instance from 1 to 20.

The outer member 9, which is of opaque material, as for instance metal, hard rubber, celluloid or the' like, is of a shape and size to t over the oval body of the container closely as shown in Figs. 1 to 3 inclusive, and to cover the same from the end remote from the neck to about where the body commences to narrow into the neck. This outer member serves a double purpose, that of concealing the game pieces in the chambers, and as a closure for the openings 5 and 6.

In one of the wide surfaces of the cover an opening 10 is provided, the opening being so positioned, that when the cover "is in the opening will be greater than that ofthe game pieces, so that the game pieces may move easily into and out of the neck. The neck is connected to the body b a tapering or flaring portion toy facilitate t e movement of the game pieces into and out of the neck. The oval or flattened arrangement of the device, prevents shaken or ot erwise manipulated to mix the plurality of game ieces, and then tilted toward inverted osition, so that the pieces roll toward and into the neck. The neck is of a length to receive a le of three in the present instance, and the relative osition of those in the neck may easily be etermined by inspection.

I claim:

1. A game device including a container having a plurality of chambers and an opening through the Wall at'each chamber, the container having a neck with which one chamber communicates and provided with a transparent wall, a plurality of consecutively numbered game pieces, the neck being of a length and cross section to receive a' file of a selected number of game pieces.

2. In a device of the c ass described, a receptacle of transparent material including a body and a reduced neck having the outer end thereof closed, a plurality of game pieces adapted to be held in the body, the neck of a diameter and length to receive a file of a selected number of game pieces, and a removable non-transparent cover for the body of the container for concealing the game pieces when said pieces are in the body.

3. In a device of the class described, a receptacle of transparent material including a body and a reduced neck having the outer end thereof closed, a plurality of game pleces adapted to be held in the body, the

neck of a diameter and length to receive a file of a selected number of game pieces, and

a removable cover for the body of the coninto the body to facilitate rolling of the said pieces.

In a device of the class described, a receptacle of transparent material including a body and a reduced neck 'having the outer end thereof closed, a plurality of game 66 pieces adapted toy be held in the body, the neck of a diameter and lengthyto receive a ile of a selected number of game pieces, and a removable cover for the body of the container, the body having a transverse par- 70 tition intermediate its ends, and an 'opening through a Wall thereof at each side of the partition, to facilitate the insertion and removal of the game pieces, said openings closed by the cover when in a pre-determined position on the body.

5. In a device of the class described, a receptacle of transparent material including a body and areduced neck having the outer end thereof closed, a plurality of game'BD pieces adapted to be held in the body, the

neck of a diameter and length to receive a ile of a selected number of game pieces, and a removable cover for the body of the container, the body having a transverse partition intermediate its ends, and an opening through a Wall thereof at each side of the partition, to facilitate the insertion and removal of the game pieces, said openings .closed by the cover when in a pre-determined position on the body, the game pieces substantially spherical and distinctively marked.
