These side bars are each 'further bent in a vertical plane to torni coils beneath each corner portion of the assembled frame and basket, to produce iexible supports or teetll for the saine. rlhe remain-- ing end portions ot' the rods are disposed upward from the feet to form posts 12 whose upper end portions are bent around the ring member 6 to secure the posts and ring together. There are four ot these posts arranged at equal distances apart substantially above and in alignment with the flexible feet before mentioned; said posts for the most part are enclosed in pockets C or" the canvas receptacle, their lower ends extending outward from the said pockets next adjacent to the coiled 'feet above mentioned. The inwardly disposed loop portion ot the opposite side members et' the frame each include a transverse supporting bar 13 which in practice is arranged beneath the central portion oi the canvas bottom of the basket and above the line of the floor or ground. rl`hese two supporting bars are rigidly secured together, one against the other, by metal clamps let which are preferably applied at the elbows joining said supports and the side bars ot the loop, to permanently and rigidly secure the same together in a way to retain the said supporting loops in horizontal position beneath the bottom of the canvas receptacle to support the bottom ot the latter above the ground or iioor upon which the basket may be positioned.

While the method of forming the canvas receptacle and applying the same to the trame is not essential, yet I lind it practicai and desirable to term the several side portions ot single widths ot material allowing the upright edges 15 to overlap in a way to torni pockets C for the posts 12', said pocket being slightly wider at the bottoni than the top and thereby forming a larger area ot the lower portion double thick where tl e strains are the heaviest. The bottom may be formed ot' a single or double thickness oi' material as desired and normally, when the basket is not filled, assumes the position shown in Fig. 3 whereas when filled the weight ot the load causes the bottom to be distended as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 8 and to be supported on the cross loop 13 in a way to prevent the bottom of the receptacle trom being dragged upon the -lioor or ground.

The handles 1G and 17 are alike in construction and are preferably formed ot reinforced strips of canvas suitably stitched together and having their ends attached to the top edge portion of the basket over the canvas and the loop member. This I ind. can best be done by employing a metal clip 1S shown in Fig. 4 having holes therethrough to accommodate the handle and having registering rivet holes therethrough by means ot which rivets 19 may be employed :tor securing the clips and handle portions to the top edge of the body of the basket including the ring member ol the trame.

1n this connection it will be noted that the handles of the basket are positioned opposite each other and are arranged above that part ot the basket which has no side bar like that shown by 10 across its bottom port-ion, thus making it more easy and comfortable to support and carry the basket upon a mans back when lilled with coal or other material. lVerc a bar like that shown by 10 extended across the bottom edge ot the side portion ot' the basket below the handle it would bear on the back and be uncomfortable to the person carrying the basket. It is also to be obvserved that these handles are arranged tore and att with reference to the construction and arrangement ot the ieet.

The two side feet are in alignment so as to track one another, when the basket is drawn 'forward by either handle, the coils being arranged with their edge portion disposed torward, less resistance is offered and a tree sliding :toot is insured. y

Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A. basket of the class described, comprising side frame members each including central horizontally disposed bottom supporting portions, edge portions, T-shaped reinforcing means embracing portions of the bottom supporting portions and edge portions and binding the bottom supporting portions together, integral yieldable leet, eX- tended below the before mentioned supporting portions ot the 'frame and integral posts risingfrom the said feet, and a ring member Itorming the top part of the frame to which the postsare secured, and a flexible receptacle enclosing the said ring and posts ot the frame and supported above the bottom portions of the frame.

A basket of the class described comprising a trame including a ring and posts secured thereto, resilient "feet arranged in pairs in parallel planes formed on the bottom portion ot the posts by ceiling the wire, transverse integral bottom supports arranged at right angles to and connecting the feet above their ground engaging portions in a` way not to drag the ground when the basket is positioned thereon, and a canvas receptacle covering portions of the frame and having its bottom positioned above the transverse bottom supporting members of the trame.

B. In a basket; a frame including a pair ot upright U-shaped side members having` their bight portions inwardly o-set and arranged iii abutting relation, means connecting the upper eiid portions of said niembers, means connecting the biglit portions of said members to reinforce and maintain them iii abutting relationship, a flexible covering for said frame, and said covering having its bottoni portion disposed above the said biglit portions.

In a basket, a frame including a pair or' side members, said side members each formed from a single length of material bent npon itself to forni al pair of spaced upriglits connected by a horizontally disposed U-shaped portion, coils formed at the juncture of the vertical portions and the arms of the U-shaped portion and disposed belowT them to form yresilient feet, said coils arranged in a paii` of parallel planes, the biglit portions of the U-shaped portions arranged in parallel planes and at right angles to the coils, and a covering 'for the frame having its bottom disposed to rest on the said biglit portions vWhen the basket is ink use.
