CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION.

To all whom 'it may concern.'
Be it known that I, ALBERT ORLAN DoL- soN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Imperial, in the county of Imperial and State of California, have invented a new and useful Concrete Construction, of which the following is a specification..
This invention relates to improvements in building wall constructions.
"An object of this invention is to provide an improved building wall construction in which there are inner and outer spaced walls forming a type'of hollow wall, and between whichconcrete beams and columns may be poured.
Another object of this invention is to provide a slab which can be usedv in constructing al hollow wall and which will enable concrete'beams and columns to be poured in the hollow wall. l
With the foregoing and'other objects in view which will be made manifest in the following detailed description and specifically pointed out in the appended claims, reference is had to the accompanyin drawings for an illustrative embodiment o the invention, wherein:
Figure 1 is a sectional view in plan of a portion of the wall of the improved construction', and may be considered as taken upon the line 1 1 of Fig. 4,

Referring to the accompanying drawings wherein similar reference characters designate similar parts throughout, the improved wall is built up of two types of slabs, indicated generally at A and B. Each of the slabs consists of a slab 10 formed of concrete or similar' self-hardening plastic material. A rib 11 is formed on vthe slab in a vertical position at approximately its center, and extends slightly below itslower edge. The upper end of tlijezvertical rib 11 terminates some distance below the top edge of the slab 10. On the slab there are also preferably formed two horizontal ribs indicated at 12 and 13 respectively;v The upper them if so desired.
horizontal rib 12 extends horizontally from the top of the vertical rib 11 toward one 'of the sldeedges of the slab 10. The lower horizontal rib 13 extends from the vertical rib 11 some distance above its bottom toward the same side'edge of the slab 10.` The slabs A and B differ from each other in the following manner. On the slabs A the ribs 12 and 13 lextend from the vertical rib 11 towards the left hand side edge as shown in Fig. 5, while the slabs B havetheir horizontal ribs` extending from the verticall rib 11- toward the right hand side edge of the slab 10Q y j In the vertical rib 11 there may beimbedded one `or more vertical reinforcing rods 14, which reinforcing rods extend upwardly above the upper end of the rib 11. A similar reinforcingl rod or rods '15 may be imbedded in the slab 10' at the back of the rib 11, and these reinforcingrods have their upper ends bent outwardly adjacent the'` upper ends oft-he reinforcing rods 14. Suitable tie' wires arefpreferably imbeddedwin the vertical ribs 11 passing around the vertical reinforcing rods 14. The vertical ribs 11 upon the slabs B are so arranged as to be positioned opposite the joints between the slabs A, and by this arrangement it will be noted that the upper horizontal ribs 12 upon the slabs A and B extend. completely across the space between'the slabs 10 of the slabs A and B and cooperate to form a continuous beam soffit located below the top edges of the slabs. On this continuous beam soflit suitable reinforcing rods 20 lmay be positioned andV concrete 21 may be poured thereon, thus forming a continuous reinforced ooncrete beam adjacent the upper ends of the slabs, which ties the slabs to-` gether, forming a rigid wall co'nstruction.

However, where there is to be a Window opening, such horizontal ribs may be used to forma lintel.
