To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HARRY D. F'oRsE, a citizen of the United States,*-and a resident of Anderson, county of Madison, and State of Indiana, have invented a certain new and useful All-Metal Knockdown Toy Vehicle; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which like numerals refer to like parts.
This invention relates to a toy vehicle of the tricycle type propelled by the feet either through pedals or by direct engagement of the foot with the vehicle supporting surface.
The chief object of the invention is to construct a toy vehicle of the character indicated substantially entirely of metal whereby the same is relatively indestructible and can be very economically produced.
Another object of the invention is to construct an all metal vehicle of the character indicated in such a manner that the same can be knocked down for shipping purposes so that when knocked down or collapsed it occupies very little space.
The chief feature of the invention consists of the construction of the same whereby the two foregoing objects are accomplished and incidental features of the invention relate to the details of construction, said features being pointed out hereinafter more in detail.
The full nature of the invention will be understood from the accompanying drawings and the following description and claims:

1 Near the opposite end of said arms forming the Q-shaped member are the openings 25 and positioned in said openings 25 is a shaft 26. A U-shaped strap having the two relatively adjacent portions 27 connected by the curved portion 28is shown provided near said connection with an enlargement or olfset portion 29. The arms 30 extend in twisted relation both outwardly and downwardly as shown. The free ends are bent angularly'thereof as at 81 and they are apertured as at.32, which aperture registers with the aperture 25 to receive the shaft 26. As shown clearly in Figsyl and 2, the depression or ofi'set portion 29 is adapted to engage the depressed portion 17 and to prevent forward longitudinal movement parallel to the seat. Likewise,'the bolt 19 by being positioned as shown cooperates with connecting portion 28 and the side portions 27 and prevent both lateral movement and longitudinal movement rearwardly of the seat. The brace construction, therefore, is adaptedto be rigidly secured, although :detachably mounted for knocking down purposes.

1', "A; knockdown toy vehicle comprising, a seat'having atopposite endswa'pair o'f pivpt al supports suhstantially transverse to ,eachjothen one-{being substantially transverse to thegplane offthe seat and the other being substantially parallel thereto, a steering wheel construction detachably mounted in the transverse pi-votal support, a bolster pivotally connected to the parallel pivotal support, a U-shaped brace forming strap having its mid-portion curved for detachable connection to the seat and its free ends extending outwardly, downwardly and rearwardly and secured to the lower por-' tion of the bolster, and means positionable in the mid-portion of the curved strap for securing the same to the seat.

A knockdown toy vehicle comprising a seat having at opposite ends a pair of pivotal supports substantially transverse to each other, one being substantially transverse to the plane of the seat and the other being substantially parallel thereto, a steering wheel construction detachably mounted in the transverse pivotal support, a U-shaped bolster forming strap pivotally connected to the parallel pivotal support, a U-shaped brace forming strap having its mid-portion curved for detachable connection to the seat and its free ends extending downwardly, outwardly and rearwa-rdly and secured to the U-shaped bolster strap near the lower end thereof for securing the same in bolster position, and means positionable in the curved portion of the strap for securing the same to the seat.

In a knock down toy vehicle of the character described, the combination of a seat portion having a projection upon its under surface, a U-shaped twisted brace, and a bolt construction detachably connecting said brace at its mid-portion to said seat adjacent the projection, said brace having a cooperating portion engageable by said projection for limiting longitudinal movement of said brace in the direction of the intermediate portion thereof and the bolt construction engaging the intermediate portion of said brace for limiting the movement of said brace laterally and in a direction toward the projection. 7

In a knock down toy vehicle of the character described, the combination of a seat including a pivotal support, a steering wheel construction comprising a wheel sup ported by strap means extending upwardly towards said seat in fork formation and terminating in semi-cylindrical bearing portions pivotally connected to said seat pivotal support, a handle telescopically connected to the projecting end of said fork vforming strap means, and means for locking said strap ends together and to the telescopically connected handle for securing the same together and for securing the wheel construc tion to the seat.

In a knock down toy'vehicle of the character described, thecombinaton of a pair of straps having their upper ends detachably connected together and arranged to form a pivot and a yoke, a wheel adapted to be straddled by said yoke, and a pair of pedal cranks each mounted upon the lower end of'a strap and detachably connected to said wheel.

In a knock down toy vehicle of the character described, the combination of a pair of straps having their upper ends detachabl connected together and arranged to formv a pivot and a yoke, a wheel adapted to be straddledvby said yoke, a pair of pedal cranks each mounted upon the lower end of a strap and detachably connected to, said wheel, and a complementary connection be tween the wheel supported ends of: said cranks and said wheel for rotating the wheel with the crank and adapted to secure said crank to its adjacent fork forming support. 7. In a knockdown juvenile vehicle, the combination of a pair of fork forming straps, each having one end complementarily formed to make a pivot, a wheel, a pair of cranks, each pivotally mounted in the other end of one of said straps and permanently secured thereto and receivable by said wheel for dr1v1ng engagement and wheel sup porting purposes, and means secur ng the pivot making strap portions together for I jacent the seat and at least one of saidtelescopic connecting portions extending through said seat aperture and pivotally supported therein, and means simultaneousvly securing the telescopic ends of said fork and said handle together in steering wheel formation.
