Description
Patented Dec. 8, 1925.
UNITED STTES PATET EC'E.
CHRISTIAN J. HUG, OF HIGHLAND, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO THE HUG COLV'IPANY, 0F HIGHLAND, ILLINOIS, A. CORPORATION OF ILLINOIS.
DISTRIBUTOR FOR CGNCRETE MIXERS.
Application filed November 22, 1923.
Y 10 all livo/1,0m it may Gomera.'
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN J. HUG, a citizen ot the United States of America, residing at Highland, in the county of Madison and State ot Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Distribiitors tor Concrete Mixers, ot which. the :following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
My invention relates to improvements in distributors for concrete mixers, and has for its object to provideI mechanism for receiving the discharge from the mixer, elevating the material so received, and discharging the same into a suitable vehicle. The invention is adapted for use where it is desired to deposit the mixed concrete in place at variable distance from the mixer, as in road building In the drawings- Fig. 1 is a side elevation ot an apparatus embodying my invention.
Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the same, parts being broken away.
In the embodiment of my invention shown in the dra-wings the concrete mixing mechanism 3 is carried on sills 4 provided with wheels 5. The sills 4 support the uprights (i and the top beam 8 and horizontal, forwardly extending beam 9. The inclined b lace 10 is secured to the beams 8 and 9.
Surmounting the frame so formed is the fixed arm 11 suitably pert'oated to receive the hook 12 and the block 13.
(1o-operating with the block 13 is the block 14 having a hook 15 to engage the eye 16 on the bail 17.
The bucket 18 has the transverse shaft 19 secured to its bottom, said shaft 19 carrying at its ends the guide-rollers Q10-20, which guide-rollers 2O lit within the channelled guide 21; said guide 21 having the lower extension 22 secured thereto by the hinge 23. When said extension 22 is in its operative position its lower end is in contact with the Surface 24 whereon the concrete mixer rests, and is held in such position by the hook 25, as shown in Fig. 1, in which position said hook 25 engages a hole 26 in the sill 4. When the apparatus is to be moved said hook 25 will be disengaged from said. sill 4 and engaged with the hole 27 in the upright 7, thus bringing the lower end of the extension member 22 (which is channeled to correspond with the guide 21) out Serial No. 676,433.
of Contact with the Surface supporting the wheels 5.
It is essential to the mode of operation of my device that the guide-rollers 20-20 be vat all times seated in the channelled guide 21.
At or near the top of the bucket 18 and at each side thereof is a guideroller 28 which is arranged to ride in the channel ot' the curved channeled guide-member 29,
The guide-members 21-29 are secured in place by being attached to the beam 9 and brace 32.
The content being discharged 'from the bucket 18 the rope 30 is relaxed to permit the bucket 18 to liall back to its lowermost and receptive position.v
Various structural modifications of the device as illustrated and above-described may be made without departing from my invention, whose objects will be accomplished by any suitable guiding and elevating means to raise the bucketecontent from the point at which it was received from the dischargespout 33, to a point where, being tilted, it will be discharged into a suitable distributing vehicle.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In a distributor for concrete mixers a bucket having a shaft secured to its bottom; guide-rollers mounted on the ends of said shaft; a channeled guide-member and a hinged lower extension thereof wherein said guide-rollers travel; other guide-rollers mounted on the sides of said bucket; a. channeled guide-member arranged to receive said last-named guide-rollers; a bail aiiixed to said shaft and arranged to draw the bucket upwardly, its guide-rollers traveling in said guide-members, and tilting said bucket to discharge its contents.
2. In a distributor for concrete mixers a bucket having a shaft secured to its bottom; guide-rollers mounted on the ends of sait` shaft; a channeled guide-member and a hinged lower extension thereof wherein Said guide-rollers travel.; the lower extenio'n'ot cei've said*lust-named guide-rollers; lu bail 10 ziiixedto-v Said shift nel arranged' td draw the bucket upwardly, its guide-rollers traveling' Vin said guide-members, and tilting said bucket to discharge its contents.
In testimony whereot have hereunto afl5 fixed 'my `Si gnature.'-
CH'RSTIAN J. HUG.
