Description

July 21, 1925..
J. B. URANGA ERASER Filed Jan. 30. 1925 I LIZoZLo B Uiu n x INVENTOR WITNESS: an-onus! Patented July 21, 1925.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JULIO B. URANGA, 0]? LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.
ERASER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JULIO B. URANGA, a citizen of the Republic of Mexico, residing at Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Erasers, ofwhich the following is a specifioation.
This invention relates to erasers.
It is a well known fact that erasers are frequently lost or misplaced, with a resultant difliculty and inconvenience when use of such is desired.
It is therefore the purpose of the present invention to provide an eraser including a ring adapted to be worn on the finger of the user, so that use can be made of the same when desired without any trouble or loss of time.
In carrying out the invention, I also contemplate the provision of an eraser, wherein the eraser proper is associated with a holder, the latter being capable of being readily attached to or separated from a finger ring, so that a stone or some other ornamental article can be associated with the ring after the holder has been separated therefrom, thus making the ring serve two purposes.
The nature and advantages of the invention will be better understood when the fol lowing detailed description is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, the invention residing in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as claimed.
In the drawing forming part of this application, like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views, and
wherein Figure 1 is a view of a modified form partly in section.
Figure 2 is a plan view of an ornamental object which is capable of being associated with the ring shown in Figure 4 after the eraser holder has been separated therefrom.
Figure 3 is a view of the ring partly in section showing how the article in Figure 5 is associated therewith.
The invention includes an eraser holder 13 which is associated with the finger ring 14 in a manner to permit the parts to be separated when desired. For this purpose the ring 14: is formed with a threaded opening 15, while the eraser holder is provided with a threaded stem 16 which is adapted to be screwed into the opening 15 as shown in Figure 1. Consequently, the ring 1 1 can be either used for the purpose of supporting the eraser holder 13, or used in its other capacity of supporting the stone or other ornamental object indicated generally at 17 in Figure 2. In other words, after the ring 15 has served its purpose when used in connection with the eraser support 13, the latter can be separated from the ring 14, and the stone or other gem connected with the ring in the manner shown in Figure 3. Of course for this purpose the stone or gem is mounted in a support 18 which is provided with a threaded stem 19, capable of being screwed into the opening 15 of the ring after the support 13 has been removed therefrom. As hereinabove stated, the entire article may be constructed from any suitable material, so that it can be manufactured and sold at a nominal cost, or the ring 14 such as shown in Figures 1 and 3 may be constructed from expensive material inasmuch as it is to be used in connection with stones or other gems at such times when the holder 13 is not associated therewith.
While it is believed that from the foregoingdescription, the nature and advantages of the invention will be readily apparent, I desire to have it understood that I do not limit myself to what is herein shown and described, and that such changes may be resorted to when desired as fall within the scope of what is claimed.
Having thus described the invention, I claim:
In combination, a finger ring having a threaded opening therein, an article support, an eraser associated therewith, and a threaded stem projecting from the support and adapted to be screwed into said opening of the ring.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
JULIO B. URANGA.
