C. GRAHAM CASE FOR GLOVES AND THE LIKE Filed Feb. 11, 1921 A TYRN'E Patented June 9, 1925.

Albumen filed February 11', 1921. serial No. 444,078.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, CHARLOTTE GRAHAM, residing at New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in a Case for Gloves and the like, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in cases or holders for gloves and the like.
One of the objects of the invention is to provide a device of the class described, wherein gloves or other articles may be held so that they will be kept from becoming soiled, and whereby one article may be withdrawn from the case without disturbing the others.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the class described, such that the casing is partly transparent, whereby the intended wearer of the glove or other article by looking through the wall of the case may view therefrom such article as he desires to use or wear.
Other objects and aims of the invention, more or less specific than those referred to above, will be in part obvious and in part pointed out in the course of the following description of the elements, combinations, arrangements of parts and applications of principles, constituting the invention; and the scope of protection contemplated will be indicated in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawing, wherein I have illustrated a preferred form of embodiment of my invention:
Figure 1 is a plan view of my improved holder in open condition: and
Figure 2 is a perspective View of said holder showing the manner of folding the same.
Referring now to the drawings, wherein similar reference characters refer to similar parts throughout both views thereof, the reference numeral 1 denotes one section of the holder, and 2 the other section thereof, said sections being preferably hinged together at 3 by the material which forms the exterior part of the holder, the parts 4 being preferably formed of flexible material so that the holder when folded can accommodate different thicknesses of articles placed therein.
The sections 1 and 2 are composed of a single strip of material, the edge portions 5 of which are folded inwardly, and the edges 6 are also turnedinwardly and lapped upon the ends of the parts The parts 5.v and 6 are stitched to the strip of material as shown.
Suitably stitched to the parts 5 and 6, and to strips 7 and 8 are walls or panels 9, said walls being preferably formed of relatively stiff transparent material, such as celluloid, and the inner edges of these panels is preferably bound by a strip of flexible material 9. The stitching 9, however, does not extend through the material which comprises sections 1 and 2.
Thus it will be seen that in the present embodiment of my invention four pockets or compartments are formed, each of which is provided with a transparent wall, and
soiled, and yet the intended user may readily ascertain the color, quality, or character of the article to be used by observing the same through the transparent wall, making it unecessary to handle the various articles in the case, which would be necessary to do were the pockets formed of opaque material.
The edge portions 6 of the device are provided with snap fasteners 10, whereby when the device is in folded condition as illustrated in Figure 2, the sections may be fastened together, thereby locking all the articles within the case. I
It will be noted that the respective pockets open inwardly, so that when the device is in closed condition, all the articles are securely locked and held within the device.
It will accordingly be seen that I have provided a device well adapted to attain, among others, all the aims and objects above pointed out, in a simple yet efficient manner.
As manychanges could be made in this construction without departing from the scope ofthe folowing claim, it is intended that all matter contained in the above description or shown in the accompanying drawing shall be interpreted as illustrative only and not in a limiting sense.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A folding case of the character described, comprising a single body piece of flexible material having ends and side edge portions turned in to form borders, fastenings 1ocated upon the said turned-in edges of the ends of the body piece whereby the same is held in its folded condition, sheets of trans parent material passing under and being secured to the said turned-in edges of the said body piece at the ends and for a distance at the sides thereof, transverse pieces covering the edges of the said transparent sheets adjacent to the fold of the said body piece and upon opposite sides of the line of fold thereof and intermediately disposed pieces attached to the said transparent sheets and to the said body piece whereby a plurality of pockets are formed opening upon opposite sides of the fold of the said 15 body piece.
In testimony whereof I ailix my signature in the'presence of two Witnesses.
CHARLOTTE GRAHAM. Vitnesses IRVING A. HAMER, EMMA WEINBERG.
