The objects of my invention are toprode; s-1mple, ,.effic1ent and {convenient means for detach-ably mounting a thin precious metal band uponthe base metal movement ring oiymounting, and to provide simple, neat, compact, efficient; serviceable, economical and convenient means for attachingribbons, strapsand the like, to a watchcase.

My invention consists in the novel fea tures of construction. and in the combination and arrangement of parts as herein set forth and claimed.

In the embodiment of my invention as illustrated and which shows preferred constructions I provide a watchcase 1 comprising back 2, bezel 3,,,1nove1nent ring or mounting 4 of base metal and covering band 5 of precious metal detachably mounted thereon. The base metal movement ring 4 is provided in its ends 6 with threaded sockets 4 and the precious metal band 5 is provided with holes 5 adapted to register with sockets 4 when said band is mounted in position upon said. movement ring. An internally threaded screw eye 7 and a plain screw eye 8 each having a shoulder s is provided for detachably securing the precious metal band in. position upon the movement ring and to detachably secure ribbon stem or bar in spaced apart position from the Watch case. When it is desired to inspectthe watchcase for the purpose of determining theamounts of precious metal and of base metal therein simply reverse the operation of assembling as above stated after which the parts may be reassembled as before, and when it is desired to substitute other ribbons for ribbons 14 merely remove bars 9 and insert other ribbons therefor when replacing said bars.

In Fig. 6 I have shown a modified construction wherein the threaded screw eyes 7 and plain screw eyes 8 are made to conform with an octagon shaped case. Ribbon or strap bar 9 is the same as ribbon bar 9 and is similarly removable for changing ribbons, straps and the like.

An important advantage of my invention consists in the-simple and effioient means whereby the precious metal band 5 is securely and detachably held or anchored upon the base metal movement ring or mounting 4: by means of the removable screw eyes 7 and 8 in which ribbon bar 9 is detachably mounted.

While I have shown my invention and the preferred way of making it, it will be understood that it is capable of modification without departing from the scope or spirit thereof, as defined-in the claims.

What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a watchcase, a metal movement ring having a plurality of threaded sockets therein, a thin metal covering band having a plurality of holes therethrough and mounted on said movement ring with said holes in registry with said sockets respectively, a screw eye extending through each of said holes and screwed into the adjacent socket and a locking ribbon bar detachably secured to each pair of screw eyes.

2. In a watchcase, a metal movement ring having a plurality of threaded sockets therein, a thin metal cover band having a plurality of holes therethrongh and mounted on said movement ring in registry with said sockets respectively, and a screw eye extending through each of said holes and screwed into the adjacent socket and. detachable means for locking said. screw eyes in position.

3. In a Watchcase, a base metal movement ring having holding sockets therein, a thin precious metal covering band having holes adapted to register with said sockets respectively, screw eyes having threaded stems extending through said thin precious metal band into said sockets respectively, and each screw eye having a shoulder bearingagainst said band to hold it firmly in position upon said base metal movement ring, and means for detachably locking said screw eyes in position.

4. In a watchcase, a movement ring of base metal, a thin cover band of precious metal. thereon, a pair of screw eyes adapted to be inserted through said band and screwed into said movement ring, said screw eyes each having a shoulder adapted to bear against and hold said thin band of precious metal in firm relation with said movement. ring and a ribbon bar detach-ably connected to said screw eye to removably hold said thin band of precious metal. in position. and to detachably support said ribbon.

5. In a watchcase, an eye mounted thereon, a threaded eye also mounted thereon, a ribbon bar having a thread near one end whereby the other end thereof will enter said eye and means whereby said bar may be rotated for insertion or removalfrom said eyes.

6. In a watchcase, a movement ring, a band thereon, means for detachably holding said band in position upon said movement ring and means for detachably locking said detachable holding means 7. In a watchcase, a movement ring of base metal and a thin cover band of precious metal mounted thereon, a plurality of screw eyes having a threaded stem adapted to eX tend through said thin precious metal band and be screwed into said movement ring of base metal and each having a shoulder adapted to engage and hold said band in firm relation with said ring, one of said eyes having a plain or smooth hole and the other an internally threaded hole, a pin having a head and having a thread adjacent thereto and means for screwing said bar into said internally threaded eye whereby the other end thereof is projected and held in said plain or smooth eye.
