Thisinvention relates to a novel flush tank and toilet bowl, and novel means for automatically governing the fiowof the water into and out of the flush tank by the operation of the seat of the bowl. I
Another object of the invention is, to provide a novel flush tank, in which the provision of washers, float valves and the like are eliminated, thereby providing an eXcep tionally simple and durable tank in which the likelihood of the same becoming broken or inoperative is reduced to a minimum.
A further object of the invention is to providea novel flush tank and toilet bowl embodying a pivoted seat, weighted means connected with the sea't foiyno'rnially naintaining the same in a slightly raised position and'the water inlet and outlet means for the tank in a closed and open position respectively, the seat when being moved to a lowered position tending to close the outlet valve and to open the water inlet or supply valve to the tank.
A further object of the invention is to provide an improved device of the above character, which will be durable and efficient in use, one that will be simple and easy to manufacture and one which can be placed upon the market at a reasonable cost.
W'ith these and other objects in View, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and formation of parts, as will be hereinafter more specifically described, claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which drawings: 3

Figure 2 is an enlarged fragmentary longitudinal section through the flush pipe showing the novel outlet valve incorporated therein.
Figure 3 is a detail section taken on the line 3-3 of Figure 1 illustrating the means of connecting the seat with the control rod for the inlet and outlet valves of the flush tank.
Figure 4 is a detail transverse section through the flush pipe taken on the line showing a plan view of the novel outlet valve.
Referring to the drawings in detail, wherein similar reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, the letter A indicates a toilet bowl; B a seat therefor and C the improved flush tank associated with the bowl. y
The bowl A can be of any preferred type and has communicating with, the vrear end thereof the rearwardly extending flush pipe 5,,which can extend through the partition .6 of a room and which has connection with the upright flush pipe 7, through the provision of a nipple orT-joint 8.
The seat B can be also of any preferred type and is pivoted to the rear end of the bowl in any preferred manner, as at; 9. The seat B has connected to its rear end, a rearwardly extending rod 10 which extends beyond the pivot point 9 of the seat, andwhich has connect-ion with an operating link- 11 through a, slot and pin connection 12... The

,Thetank Cis of a novel configuration and construction and is of such a size and'shape as to permit the same to be built into a wall or partition if so desired.
As shown the tank 0 includes a substantial cylindrical body 13 having a lower integral semi-spherical wall 14, which has communicating with the axial center thereof the vertically disposed flush pipe 7.
The upper end of the flush tank C has communicating therewith a supply pipe 15 and this pipe has angular end 16 which extends directly into the tank. A valve 17 of the rotary type is incorporated in the pipe 16, and the stem 18 thereof is provided with an operating crank 19. An annular valve seat 20 is disposed in the upright flush tank 7 at a point intermediate its ends and a pivoted flap valve 21 is adapted to be normally fitted upon said seat. The upper surface of the valve 21, which is. of a substantially disk-shape has formed thereon a lug 22, to which is connected an operating rod 23. The upper end of the operating rod 23 is connected with the outer end of the crank 19. The lower end of the valve'21 has connected therewith a downwardly extending rod 24, which extends through a suitable cap and packing gland 25 carried by the lower end of the upright flush pipe 7 The lower end of this rod has secured thereto a suitable weight 26 of the desired mass. The lower end of the downwardly and rearwardly extending operating link 11 is pivotally connected as at 28 to a sleeve 29 adjustably mounted upon the rod 24.
The yoke 28 is adapted to normally rest upon the weight 26, the latter causing a downward pull on the link 11 in such. a manner as to slightly hold the seat B in a raised position. Of course the downward move ment of the weight 26 will tend to move the valve 21 from off of its seat 20 and swing down on the crank 19 which will close the valve 17 and thus prevent the entrance of water into the tank.
When the toilet is in use, the seat B, will of course be moved to its lowermost position, which will raise the rod 24: through the medium of thelink 11. The upward movement of the rod 24; will urge the valve 21 against the seat 20 and thus prevent the flow of water through the flush pipe 7. The upward movement of the valve 21 will raise the rod 23, which will swing up on the crank 19 and consequently open the valve 17 and permit the flow of water into the tank 0.
Immediately after the toilet has been used, the seat will be raised by the weight 26 and the valve .21 will open permitting the flow of water from the tank G into the bowl A. As stated, the downward movement of the flap valve 21 will cause the downward movement on the rod 23 and the closing of the valve 17 Changes in details may be made without departing from the spirit or the scope of this invention. r

In a toilet top a bowl, a pivoted seat for the bowl, a flush tank disposed in the rear of the bowl, a flush pipe connecting the bowl and tank, a water supply pipe leading into the tank, a valve arranged in the flush pipes tor controlling the flow of water from the tank, a valve for controlling the flow of water through the'supply pipe into the tank, means connecting the two valves together for simultaneous movement, means operated by the seat controlling the operation of the said valves including a radially extending arm connected with the seat, a rod connecting with and depending from the valve in the flushpipe and extending below the seat, and a'link pivotally connected with the arm and the lower end of the rod.
