Description

Feb. 5 1924.;
' W. E. WYATT TOILET DEVICE Filed Oct 6, .922
Patented Feb. 5, 19241,
onrran stares WILLIAM EDWARD WYATT, OF TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA.
TOILET DEVICE.
Application filed October 6, 1922. Serial No. 592,789.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM EDWARD WYATT, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Toronto, in the Province of Ontario and Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toilet Devices, of which the following is a specification.
My said invention consists in a device intended primarily as a toothbrush holder and having for its purpose to provide such a holder in which the toothbrushes and brushes of like character may be supported and protected so that they will be maintained in a sanitary condition.
A further object is to provide a transparent covering and enclosing means for the brushes whereby they may be visible and subject to the germicidal action of sunlight while protected from dust and accidental contact with persons or objects.
Referring to the accompanying drawings which are made a part hereof and on which similar reference characters indicate similar parts,
Figure l is a perspective of my device in place on a wall, and
Figure 2 a horizontal section of the same.
Said device consists of a bracket comprising a plate 10 for attachment to the wall and a wire support 11 terminating in the form of a goose neck to the lower end 12 of which a plate 13 is supported in the edges of which are slots or recesses 14 in which the brushes are supported. A guiding and clamping member 15 is fixed in any convenient manner on the main shank ll of the bracket being preferably held by the clamping action of the bend at 16. The clamping member is adapted to embrace the sides of the glass 17 and hold it from moving, the glass being adapted to surround the brushes and the plate 13 and thus protect said brushes from dirt and keep them in a sanitary condition while at the same time exposing them to the light,
Obviously I may utilize a cover of material other than glass and may make other changes within the spirit of the invention, the true scope of which is indicated in the appended claim.
Having thus fully described my said invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
In a tooth brush holder, a bracket having one end adapted to be secured to a wall and having a portion extending downwardly therefrom and bent outwardly and upwardly to form a U-shaped portion, the upwardly extending leg of the U-portion of said bracket being bent outwardly and downwardly to form an inverted U-shaped portion, the free leg of said last-mentioned downwardly extending portion having a circular plate secured thereto adapted to support a drinking glass in an inverted position over said inverted U-shaped portion with the intermediate leg of the U- portions in supporting contact with the inner side of the glass, said circular plate having a slightly less diameter than the internal diameter of the glass, whereby the periphery of said plate contacts with the inner surface of the glass adjacent the upper peripheral edge thereof, said plate havlng a series of recesses spaced around the periphery for receiving brushes, and a clamping member carried by the bracket having portions curved to conform with the glass and extending in opposite directions about the glass to embrace the same at substantially diametral points, substantially as set forth.
In witness whereof, Ihave hereunto set my hand and seal at Washington, District of Columbia, this 27th day of September, A. D. nineteen hundred and twenty-two.
00 Ma Kara.
