As fis well known, ftops for automobiles and like vehicles ordinarily include side curtainsdetachably secured at their upper endsto longitudinal bows or associated :trame members ot the body and detachably secured 'at their'lower ends'to the doors ot the automobile at theupper ends or the latter. ln stormy and rainy weather, `it is ordinarily necessary' to detach the side" curtains -from fthe doors when the doors are opened and to again secure the curtains tothe doors whenV the latter are closed. ln consequence,con-

VIt is therefore an object or my invention to provide asimple eiiicientiineans for sup'- porting curtains above the doors of anauto I mobile or? like vehicle so 'that the doorsand the side curtains'can be swung from open toV closed position or vice versa without the necessityot .detaching,T any part ofthe sido curtains trom a support. y

A further object of my invention is to provide a device .oit the character described which is adapted to he operatively applied to aiitomobiles-havilio; tops or conventional or ordinary construction without a change Vin the construction ot the latter' being required.

A still further object of my invention is to provide an attachment or the character described which :incliidesmeans 'for removably supporting a side'curtain in a desired position in respect to a door of an automo! bile'or other vehicle, whereby the Vcurtain so supported-can' be detachedrirom the vewhich the following is a speci-- hicle and folded in lthe usual manner tor storage in a small space when not in use.

A still further object ot my invention is. to provide an attachment et the characterV described which includes means 'for normally holding` a' curtain supported thereon substantially in vertical alignment withv a door with which associated when the latter-is in closed position, and for yieldinply resistingmovement of the curtain from closed to open position.

Other objects and advantages will be ap* parent from the following description. and the novel features of the invention will be particularly outlined inthe appended claim.

An attachment embodyingr the invention in the form now preferred by me, includes a bracket 5 comprising a vertical plate portion or arm 6 adapted to be attached by screws 7 or the like tothe inner side ot a longitudinal bow 8 ot the top 2, or like support.
