Be it known that we, HENRY A. McCoy andi THOMAS GVANDERSON, both subjects of .the King of Great BritainresidingatHamile 'ton, in the county of Wentworth `and Province of ntario, Canada,- and Ancaster, in

Ourinvention relates toV improvements in radiators of motor vehicle cooling systems,
and consists essentially of a core removable from the radiator lframe and comprising a pair of header plates formi-ng partof the upper and lower tanks respectively and vconnected by a multiplicity, of, tubes secured thereto by a new and novel method.

It is well known that leaks frequently i occur in the cores of radiators, and in order to effect a permanent repair to Vthe particu-r lar part of the core it has been necessary to remove the entire Yradiator which necessitated the greater proportion ofthe labor to be performed from beneath the car,-separa tion of the sealed hose lconnectionsand the 'Y like, and finally the removal of the core from the shell or frame.

Itwill follow that the radiator core is practically wedged between the upper and lower tanks E and-F. f Y' The operation of the device is as follows:
In case of repair havingrto be made in any one oic the tubes C, the entire core is removed from the trame by taking 'out the bolts l0 inY the forward tlanges'of the header plates and tanks, and by loosening the bolts 1l in the rear flanges, grooves l2 being provided in the rear flanges of the hea-der plates in lieu or bolt holes. e
The defective tube C may be withdrawn from the header plates A, B, by loosening the respective pipe plugs 2. The old tube maybe repaired, or be replaced by a new tube atv option, or,if a leak occurs and it be inconvenient to repair or to replace the tube, ordinary pipe plugs (undrilled) may be screwed into place in the header plates to seal the openings therein. lt will be particularly noted that by the provision of our improved radiator, leaks maybe readily repaired while on. the road by carrying spare lengths of tubing, or or- -dinary pipe plugs.
Having now fully describedrour invention. what we claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is.; v
l. In a device or the class described, the combination with a radiator frame, of an upper tank, a lower tank, a header plate reniovably secured to the upper tank, a header plate removably secured to the lowertank, the adjoining surfaces oic the upper tank and upper header plate having a rearward declivity, the adjoining surfaces of the lower tank and lower headerplate having a rear- `ward acclivity, and a plurality of tubes con-l necting said header plates and individually removable therefrom.
2. ln a device ot the class described, the Y combination with a radiator frame, of an upper tank, a lower tank, a header plate re-l movably secured to the upper tank, a. header plate removably vsecured to the lower tank, the adjoining surfaces of thev upper ,tank and upper` header plate having a rearward declivity,k 'the adjoiningv 4surfaces Vot the lower tank and lower header plate having a rearward vacclivity, said header plates vbeing trough shaped whereby to receive andhouse tube fastening means and a radiation core i connecting said header plates.
