Suitably affixed to the opposite walls oi said cam-way 19 are inwardly projecting studs 20 and 21 upon which are mounted anti-frictional rollers 22 and 23, which in turn are respectively operatively engaged in the respective cam-grooves 17 at the opposite sides of said cam 1G, all whereby said stamp or iinpresser bar 18 is related to said cam 16 so as to be reciproeated by the rotation thereof. Connected with the lower end of said stamp or impresser bar 18 is a stamp-foot 24 to the underside of which may be detachably aflixed the` half-tone printing plate 25 or other type element, by means of which the desired picture is to be stamped or printed on a ticket. In order to furnish a means for quickly and easily attaching interchangeable printing plates 25 to said stamp-foot 24, the former are provided at their respective sides with lips 26 of reduced thickness. Secured upon one side of said stamp-foot, in fixed relation thereto, is a clip-plate 27 having a downwardly spaced inwardly projecting retaining lip 28. Secured upon the opposite side of said stamp-foot 24, is a downwardly extending spring-plate 29, the lower end of which is formed to provide a releasable clip-plate 30, also having a downwardly spaced inwardly projecting retaining lip 31. The spring tension of said spring-plate 29 normally tends to swing the lower end of the same outwardly away from the side of said stamp-foot, to move said clip-plate 30 and its retaining lip 31 to released position. as shown by the dotted representation of said parts in Figure 7. Said normal tension of the spring-plate is overcome by a pull-spring 32 which is suitably attached to a finger-piece 33 connected with the clip-plate 30 to extend inwardly through a transverse opening 34 provided in said stamp-foot, the opposite end of said spring :32 being suitably Ianchored by any convenient means. As shown in Figure 7, the printing-plate 25, when in attached relation to the stamp-foot 24. has its lips 26 respectively engaged by the respective retaining lips 28 and 31 of the respective clip-plates 27 and 30, whereby the printing plate is securely held against the underside of said stamp-foot and operatively coupled therewith. lWhen it is desired to remove one printing-plate and interchange the same for another. the finger-piece 33 is pulled outwardly. whereby the pull of spring 32 upon the spring-plate 29 is relaxed, thus permitting` the normal tension of the latter to swing outwardly the clip-plate 30 to thereby remove the retaining finger 3, from engagement with the one lip 26 of the printing plate, whereupon the opposite lip of the latter may be withdrawn from the embrace of the retaining lip 28 of the opposite clipplate 27. A reversal of such operation is carried out in coupling the new printingplate to the stamp-foot. i
Secured upon the u per surface of said base 10, in front of said guide-frame 11 and vertically alined beneath said stamp-foot 24, is a platen blgck '35. This platen block 35 is pre fcrably made of a more or less resilient or yieldable material, such as rubber, leather or the like. The ticket 36, which is to be stamped or printed, is laid across the top of said base 10 to extend over said platenblock 35. Suitable vertical gauge pins 37 are fixed in said base 10 to gauge the position of the ticket, and at one end of the base 10 is fixed a stop-clip 38, which holds the ticket against endwise movement. Fixed upon said guide-frame to extend forwardly over the base 10, and suitably spaced upwardly therefrom, are retaining fingers 39 under which the ticket is engaged, to further aid in properly holding the ticket against movement during the stamping or printing operation.
Mounted in connection with said guidevframe 11, at one side of said stamp or impresser bar 18, is an ink carrying or feedin means, the same comprising a main in carrying roll 40, the rearward end of the shaft t1 of which is journaled in said guidei'rame, while the. forward end of said shaft is journaled in a depending outwardly oil'- set bearing arm 42 of a bearing clip 43 affixed to the guide-frame. Secured upon the rearward end of said shaft il is a sprocket wheel 4A, which is driven by a chain 1 5 running from a drive sprocket '-16 fixed on said main shaft 15, all so as to rotate said ink carrying roll 40. Mounted at one side of said ink carrying roll so asI to rotate in contact with the surface thereof is an ink spreadin roll 4:7 suitably journaled between sai guide-frame 11 and a seco-nd depending outwardly offset bearing arm 48 connected with said bearing clip 43. ln order to assure a proper spreading and distribution of the ink upon the entire surface of said carrying roll 40, and also to assure a thorough even feeding of the same to ink transfer rolls to be subsequently described, means are provided to longitudinally reciprocate said carrying roll 40 during and in addition to its rotative movement. The means for producing such longitudinal reciprocations comprises a cam projection -19 fixed to the inner end of said carrying roll, which is adapted to cooperate with a fixed stud 50 projecting outwardly from the guide-frame 11. Spring means, such as the springs 51 or equivalent devices, are provided to thrust the roll 40 endwise in an inward direction so as to maintain the cam-projection 49 in constant operative relation to the stud 50. TAvdeviceof the-kind described, comprisingya, base having a guide frame eX- tending `upwardly therefrom,V a vertically reciprocable printing element mounted on said guide frame, a transversely reciprocable ink transfer means mounted on said guide frame, a rotatable shaft journaled in the upper end of said guide `frame, cam devices on said shaft respectively adapted to actuate said printing element and said inli transfer means in timed relation whereby said ink transfer means is operatively moved relative to said printing element in advance of the operative stroke of the latter, a rotatable ink-carrying roll journaled in said guide frame with which said ink transfer means is initially engaged, transmission means driven from said shaft to rotate said carrying roll, a spreader roll tangent to said ink-carrying roll, and means imparting a longitudinal reciprocating movement to said carrying roll relative to said spreader.

A device of the kind described, comprising a base having a guide frame extending upwardly therefrom, a vertically reciprocable printing element mounted on said guide-frame, a yieldable platen, block fixed on saidbase beneath said printing element, a slide-block transversely recipro` cable on said guide-frame, a spring pressed pivoted yoke-frame mounted on said slideblock, ink transfer rolls journaled in the free end of said yoke-frame, a beli-cranlt lever fulcrumed on said guide-frame, means interconnectingr the lower end of said ievcr With said slide-block, a shaft journaled in the upper end of said guide-frame, cam devices on said shaft respectively adapted to actuate said printing element and said bell-crank lever, said cam devices being set on said shaft in timing relation whereby said slide-block is reciprocated in advance of the reciprocation of said printing ele` ment, and ink supply means with which said ink transfer rolls are initially engaged.

A device of the kind described, coniprising a base having a guide frame extending upwardly therefrom, a vertically reciprocable printingr element mounted on said guide-frame, a yieldable platen-block xed on said base beneath said printing element, a slide-block transversely recipro` cable on said guide-frame, a spring pressed pivoted yoke-frame mounted on said slideblock, ink transfer rolls journaled in the free end of said yoke-frame, a bell-crank lever fulcrumed on said guide-frame, means interconnecting the lower end of said lever with said slide-block, a shaft journaled in the upper end of said guide-frame, cam devices on said shaft respectively adapted to actuate said printing element and said bellcrank lever, said cam devices being set on said shaft in timing relation whereby said slide-block is reciprocated in advance of the reciprocation of said printing element, a rotatable ink-carrying roll journaled in said guide-frame with which said inl: transfer rolls are initially engaged, and transmission means dri-ven from said shaft to rotate said carrying roll.

A device of the kind described. comprising a base having a guide frame extending upwardly therefrom, a vertically reciprocable printing element mounted on said guide-frame, a yieldable platen-block fixed on said base beneath said printing element, a slide-block transversely reciprocable on said guide-frame, a spring pressed pivoted yoke-frame mounted on said slide-block, ink transfer rolls journaled in the `free end of said yoke-frame, a bell-crank lever fulcrumed on said guide-frame, means interconnecting the lower end of Said lever with said slide-block, a shaft journaled in the upper end of said guide-frame, cam devices on said shaft respectively adapted to actuate said printing element and said bellcrank lever, said cam devices being set on said shaft in timing relation whereby said slide-block is reciprocated in advance of the reciprocation of said printing element, a rotatable ink-carrying roll journaled in said guide-frame with which said ink transfer rolls are initially engaged, transmission means driven from said shaft to rotate said carrying roll, a spreader roll tangent to said ink-carrying roll, and means imparting a longitudinal reciprocating movement to said carrying roll relative to said spreader.
