INSECTPROOF CUP FOR FURNITURE.
Application filed August 14, 1922.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, WALTER Mom and ADRIAN W. ANGEL, citizens of the United States, residing at Evansville, in the county of Vanderburg and State of Indiana, have invented new and useful Improvements in Insectproof Cups for Furniture, of which the following is a SPBClfiCH/CIOIL The object of the present invention is to the furniture being freely moved over a floor.
Other objects and advantages will present themselves as the nature of the invention is better understood, reference being had to the drawings which accompany and which form part of this application.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view of one form of the improvement.
Figum 2 is a plan view thereof.
Figure 3 is a sectional view illustrating the application of the construction.
The improvementincludes a metal cup 1 which is, of course, round in plan and which is centrally provided with an upwardly directed inwardly rounded portion 2. Be-- tween the portion 2 and the outer wall of the cup there is a rounded connecting wall 3.
The centrally bulged portion 2 is formed with an annular opening surrounded by a flange i, the said flange being formed with outstanding prongs 5, and these prongs are forced into the leg 6 of an article of furniture.

cup permits of the device being arranged on the legs of an article of furniture provided with casters so that the application of the improvement to such devices does not require the removal or withdrawal of such casters. I
It is thought that the foregoing description, when taken in connection with the drawing will fully set forth the construction and advantages of the improvement, it being apparent that when the cups contain an insecticide, ants or similar insects will be prevented from crawling up the leg of the furniture.
By reference to the drawing it will be noted that in using the cups on the legs of' furniture, whereby the leg is larger than the cup itself, the outer edge of the cup is a sufficient distance from the leg (regardless of size) so that ants or other insects cannot crawl thereto before passing through the insecticide in the cup.
Having described the claim An attachment for the legs of articles of furniture comprising a cup member which is centrally bulged inwardly, and the wall between the center and the edge thereof rounded, saidin-bulged portion being centrally provided with an opening surrounded by a flange whereby the same may be arranged upon the leg of furniture provided with a caster, and said flange having integral prongs to enter and sustain the cup on the leg of the furniture.
