Description

Apr. 24, 1923.
MWGRONSDAHL HIGH ORA-IR I Filed March 16 i922 INVENTOR Martin GransdahZ,
ATTORNEY Patented Apr. 24, 1923.
,PATENT OFFICE.
MARTIN GRONSDAHL, OF CONGRESS, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA.
HIGH CHAIR.
Application filed March 16, 1922.
To all whom it may concern: 1
Be it known that I, MARTIN GnoNsnAHL,
a citizen of the Dominion of Canada, resid ing at Congress, in the county of Moose J aw and Province of Saskatchewan, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in High Chairs, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to a device adapted to be positioned on an ordinary chair so that the same may be used as a high chair.
.VVith this and other objects'in view, the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.
Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating the embodiment of my present invention.
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the de vice adapted to be positioned on a chair.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of the detachable tray,
Referring to the drawings, like numerals designate like parts in the various drawings.
The chair on which the device is to be positioned may be of any suitable construction such as is illustrated. The attachment consists of vertical members 4, and 5 having a rung 6 positioned intermediate the same and substantially connected thereto. End members 7 and 8 are substantially connected to the vertical members 4 and 5, The end members embrace the vertical portions 9 and 10 of the back of the chair on which the device is embodied by means of the members 11 which are pivotally mounted on the lower portion of the device so that the same may be turned laterally and disengaged from the members 9 and 10 of the chair. The numeral 12 indicates Serial No. 544,374.
the seat of the device which is used by the child instead of the ordinary seat of the chair. The detachable tray consists of a body member 13 having openings 14 and 15 positioned in the same for reception of the upper ends of the vertical members 4 and Brackets 16 are positioned on the lower face of the detachable member and bear against the vertical members 4 and 5. If pressure should be exerted on the outer edge of the body member, these bracket members 15 are adapted to keep the same in normal position. A ridge 17 is positioned around the edge of the body member 13, forming a tray.
It is obvious that the device may be attached to or detached from any suitable chair with very little difficulty.
From the foregoing, it is thought that the construction of my invention will be clearly understood, and, therefore, a more extended explanation has been omitted.
What I claim as new:
A chair attachment comprising uprights, end members having forked members pivotally mounted on the lower rear sides of the end members, a transverse rung connecting the end members near their upper ends, the end members having their upper edges notched adjacent said uprights, and a detachable tray having depending brackets at the ends, lateral projections at the rear side of said tray to engage in said notches and to bear against the rear faces of said uprights, and openings in the tray at the rear of said brackets to receive the said uprights.
In testimony whereof, I hereunto aifiX my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
MARTIN GRONSDAHL.
Witnesses MILDRED MoCRoUn, JENNIE M. Gnovns.
