It is a primary object and purpose of the present invention to provide a fixture ofthis character, simple in structure and eco nomical to manufacture, very easily operat ed,and one which permits a very fullflow of water without undue splashing" when operated, whereby the glasses may be rapid; 1y filled, speed being especially desirable c uring rush hours in restaurants. further object of the inventionis to produce a device of this character which is clean and sanitary in its use. It is obvious that backward turning pivotal movement of the I operating member about the pin 8 serves to force valve pin 11 rearwardly to unseat the I valve at 13 and open the passage for water.-
It is likewise evident that the force required to operate the operating member is very slight, irrespective how great the-pressure of the water against the head 12, due to the great leverage present in the construction. Accordingly when a glass, such as illustrated at 27, l ig. 1, is brought against the lower ends of arms 9 of the operating member, slight pressureof the glass against the heads 10 on said arms opens the passage for water which is immediately delivered to the glass through the outlet member 2 and from itsnozzle 3; and as soon as the glass is filled to the required height, the flow of water is automatically stopped on removal of the glass. y
The construction is particularly compact and simple, is easily manufactured and assembled, is not liable to get out of order, and if it should, can be'very readily taken apart for repair or replacement of parts. The block 5 has to be a separate piece in order that a tool can be applied to the end 4 to thread the same. The flow of water at its maximum is only that which can pass through the restricted passage in the coupiing, and this maximum is easily regulated.
oreover, the one having a glass filled can regulate the flow in accordance with the amount the operating member is pressed to the rear. In practice, a very rapid filling of glasses can be had without splashing due to the close positioning of the nozzle 3 to the upper end of the glass. In every way, the oonstructionis particularly practical and efiective and has so proved in use.
I claim:
1. A device of the class described, comprising a horizontally disposed valve body and an overhanging outlet member therefor extending in front of the body and terminating in a downwardly turned. nozzle, an operating member pivotally suspended from said outlet member, a valve mounted in the body and having a valve pin projecting in front of the body in position to be operated by the operating member, said valve norcommunicating with the passage in the body,
said outlet member extending upwardly. a short distance from the body back of the front end thereof, andthen extending for ward to in front of said body and terminating in a downturned end, a valve mounted in the body and adapted to close the passage therein, a pin associated with the valve and; extending forward to in front of the body,
an operating member pivotally suspended from the outlet-member in front of thepin,
and a cam shaped upperend to the operating member against which the valve pin bears, whereby on rearward turning movement of the operating member, the pin is moved to actuate the valve to open the passage'through the body, substantially. as described. p

A device of the character described, comprising a horizontally disposed body having an upperoverhanging outlet memiio her, said body and member having connected passages therethrough and said outlet memberextending horizontally in front of the front end of the body and terminating in a downturned end, a coupling threaded into the rear end of the body, a valve located in the body adapted to close the passage therein, a spring disposed between the coupling and valve normally holding the valve closed, a pin extending from the valve forward through and in front of the body, an operating member pivotally suspended from the outlet member in front of the pin said member at its upper end being formed with a rear cam surface against which the end of the pin bears, and said member below the pivot being divided to make diverging 10 forwardly curved arms, and a head attached I to the lower end and at the front side of each arm, substantially asdescribed;
