To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, ARTHUR E. New, a citizen of the United States, residing at lBerea, in the countyot Cuyahoga and titate of Uhio, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Amusement Devices, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in amusement devices, andmore particularly to that class or type which are designed :tor the amusement and entertainment oil children.

The present embodiment of the invention is particularly designed and adapted for use as an indoor toy or device which in one position may be used as an ordinary riding rocker and which may be reversed to an op posite stationary position for use as an amusement slide, suitable inclined members being provided for this purpose.

The primary object is to provide generally improved amusement device of the indicated whichwill be exceedingly simple in construction, cheap oil manufacture, and eilicient in use.

A further object is the provision of a simple durable device of this class in which the liability to breakage or damage or disarrangement of the parts is reduced to a mini.- mum.

"With the above mentioned and other ends in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement, and combination of parts, hereinafter described, illustrated in one of its embodiments in the accompanying drawings, and particularly pointed out in the appended claims. 1

The improved amusement device comprises a pair of side members 1, provided with substantially semi-circular shaped curved portions 1, forming rockers when Serial No. 453,?dtt.

the device is in one position, said sides, or rockers terminating at their ends in spaced supporting heads 1", adapted to support the device as a whole when reversed or in the other position.

The sides or rockers 1, are preferably provided midway of their ends with approximately it-shaped recesses i suitable cross members being interposed between and se cured to the side members 1, for forming the seat members when in one position and the climband slid i'ieinbers when in the other or reversed pos on as hereinafter described.

The seat members 2, are preferably pro vided with we seat back members 2, facing towards each other when the device is in its upright or rocker forming position, said members 2, and 2, also affording a means for bracing the side members or rockers 1.

As a means of providing an amusement slide device when reversed suitable oppositely inclined cross members or elements are arranged between the side members 1, said members or elements, being preferably in the specific form of an inclined slide member 3, at one side and an oppositely inclined climb member i, at the other, a suitable top or pedestal member 5, being provided as shown more clearly in Figs. 3 and l oi the drawing when reversed, said pedestal or top member 5, forming a :toot board or base when the device is used as a rocker as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings.

The inclined climb member or means for the children ascending to the pedestal memher 5, preparatory to sliding down over the slide or incline 3, may be of any suitable and convenient form for such purpose, and in the present instance, consists of a series of rounds 4, forming a ladder for such purpose.-

Having thus described one of the embodiments of my invention, without having attempted to set forth all the forms in which it may be made, or all the modes oi. its use, what ll claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is,

1. An amusement device, comprising side members, and oppositely arranged seats and subj acent inclined open and closed members interposed between and carried by said side members and serving as climb and slide members when reversed.

2. lin an amusement device, a reversible rocker having oppositely arranged seats tacing toward each other when in an upright position, and .subjacent oppositely inclined open and closed elements, said elements forming climb and slide members, respec- 5 tively, when in a reversed position.

3. In an amusement device, reversible rockers transverse members secured therebetween forming seats when in an upright position, and oppositely arranged converging open and closed elements between said rockers forming oppositely inclined climb and slide elements when said rockers are reversed.

4. An amusement device, comprising side rockers having approximately V-shaped recesses, seat members on opposite sides of the latter, and climb and slide members interposed between said rockers below said seat position and climb and slide members in (be other or reversed position.

7. 111 a reversible rocker, semi-circular shaped rocker members having Vshaped rm cesses forming spaced. supporting heads tor supporting the rockers in a stationary position when reversed, oppositely inclined climb and slide members between said rocker members and a pedestal member between said climb and slide members.

8. In an amusement device, side rockers terminating in spaced supporting heads :for supporting the same when reversed, seat members interposed between the head portions of said rockers for utilizing the latter when in an upright position, and inclined ladder and slide members between said rockers below said seat members for use when said rockers are reversed and supported on said supporting heads.

9. In an amusement device, side rocker members having V-shaped recesses in their sides and terminating in spaced supporting heads, seats interposed between said support;- ing; heads of said rockers, and inclined ladder and slide members between said rockers below said seats for use when said rockers are reversed and supported on said supporting heads.
