Description
D. H. HILL.
Billiard-Table Levelers.
PatentedOct. 28,1873,
UNITED STATES DAVID H. HILL, OF SOUTH CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN BlLLlARD-TABLE LEVELERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 144.028, dated October 28, 1873; application filed September 6, 1873.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, DAVID H. HILL, of South Chester, in the county of Delaware and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Billiard-Table Leveler, of which the following is a specification:
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a vertical section of my improved leveler, as applied to the foot of a billiard-table, and Fig. 2 a top view of the same detached.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of my invention is to furnish, for the purpose of leveling billiard or bagatelle tables, pianos, clocks, parlor-organs, and other objects, an improved evener, which is applied to the feet or bases thereof, and allows the quick and easy adjustment of these pieces, and dispenses with the time-consuming and annoying leveling hitherto in use.
My invention consists of a button or caster, with a bolt-screw, which works into a socket of the billiard-foot, to be adjustable therein by means of a small hand-wheel.
In the drawing, A represents the foot of a billiard-table or other piece of furniture, into which is centrally placed the socket B, made of conical shape, with circular face flange or rim, to. Rim a is firmly secured to the lower end of foot A by screws or otherwise. trally through socket B is cut a female thread, 11, for bolt-screw O, which extends beyond socket'B into the foot A, so that the full length of bolt 0 may be screwed into it. p A button, knob, or caster, cl, as may be desired, forms the lower end of bolt 0, on which the billiardtable, piano,or other object rests. Above button d is cast, or otherwise connected with bolt 0, the horizontal hand-wheel D, by the turning of which, in foot A, the billiard-table is set into a level position. It may be easily turned as required, and be made in ornamental shape, so that it forms a neat appendage to the billiard-table.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The billiard-table leveler, consisting of boltscrew 0, having button (1, and hand-wheel D, socket B, and foot A provided with rim or flange a, substantially as and for the purpose described.
