My invention relates to devices for use in `connection with movable furniture.

(lne of `the objects of the invention is to provide a simple, practical and effective device of ,the class specified.

.Another object of the invention is to permit the movement of furniture such bede. desks or like articles without injuring the carpets. rugs. or floors of the rooms over which they are moved.

Another object of the invention is to facilitate the movement of such articles ot' furniture` allowing them to be moved back and forth to `various desired positions in a quick and easy manner.

Another object of the invention is to cou ceal the means whereby the furniture articles may be moved, or as nearly conceal the same as possible.

Other objects of the invention are to accomplish the foregoing and other desirable results in a simpleY and expeditiousmannen ln the accompanying drawings Fig. l is an elevation .of a corner portion of a bed, a portion of a floor with a carpet thereon, and means embodying my present invention for permitting the movement of the bed over said carpet;

which the legr 3 may be moved back and forth over the carpet or rug 2 without injuring' the same. This device in the form shown consists of a body or seat portion G and an eX- tension or track portion 7, the latter being hinged to the former for vertical movement by means of a pivot pin 8, horizontal movement of the track portion on the seat being afforded in a manner which will be presently described.

The body portion 6 is preferably annular in form. and provided with a bottom layer of felt or similar material 9 by which it may rest on the carpet or floor without injury to the same. The upper portion of the member 6 is provided with a surface 10 forming a seat for the bed roller or castor 5, the surface 10 being,` to suoli end slightly concave, as shown in Fig. 4L. rlhe member C is preferably engaged or mounted in a frame 11 in suc-h way as to permit the frame `11 to be rotated about the member 6, as

shown by full and dotted lines in Fig. 2. To suoli end the member 6 is provided with an annular groove 12 and the member 11 with., screws 1231 having reduced ends 14 adapted to fit loosely within the groove 12 so as to permit such rotative movement. The screws 13 are preferably made adjustable so as to secure the proper degree of looseness between members 6 and 11.

The frame 11 is provided with a surface 15 which forms track for the roller said member 11 being also provided with side uprights i6 forming side guides or walls for said track surface 15. The walls 16 extend in semi-circular form at 17 to enclose the roller scat 10.

The. track member 7 which is pivoted to the member 11 by the pin 8 is provided with a track floor or surface 18 which may be of any desired length. Side walls 19 extend along' the sides of the track floor or surface 1S and are made in semiecircular form at the end of the same, as shown at 20. The side` walls 1f) are preferably .integral with the body of the member 7 forming the track surface 18. Projections 21 and form legs or supports for the member 7. These projections 21 and 22 are also preferably provided on their under surfaces with felt 23, or other suitable material for preventing scratching of the liloor or carpet. The hinged arrangement between the members 11 and 7 permits the member 7 to be swung upwardly to a substantially vertical position, as shown in Fig. 1, and also to be swung` downwardly to a substantially horizontal posit on top oi' the floor or carpet, as shown in Fig, il.

Assuming' the drawings to show one leg ot' a bed having tour legs7 it will be understood that each ot the other legs of the bed rests upon a similar device.

To move the bed, the hinged members olf the four devices are all sivuirnl downwardly and laid flat upon the carpet or door, as shown in Fig. a. Vlliey are also all extended in the direction in which the bed is to be moved. The bed is then pushed or pulled so that the rollers 5 move along` the tracks 15 and 18 to any desired position in the device or until they reach the end of the track 18 and strike against the annular Wall Q0. ln Fig. a castor 5 is shown moved part Way along the member 7. The use of these devices will prevent injury to rugs, carpets, and also to lloors.
