-This invention relates to printed schedules for a series of contests or engagements between teams cfa group, its object being to providea simple printed schedule so arranged as to convey `to `the 'observer at a glance a variety of information. This indicia or markingpis applied `to the space 13, which lies in the row assigned to the Boston team. Space 13 also lies inthe vertical column assigned to Thursday, April 20th. Therefore, the appearance of the Philadelphia team marking or indicia in this particular space indicates to an observer that on Thursday, April 20th, the Philadel phia team engages in a contest with Boston in Boston. `Likewi`se, the indicia at space 14 indicates that on Monday April 24th, the St. Louis team engages in a contest with Cincinnati at Cincinnati. Blank spaces, such as spaces 15, 16, indicate either that the home team of that row is either idle, as in space 15, or is on the road and engaged as a visitor in a contest with some other team.

Vith this printed schedule card it is possible toreadily determine by the character of the indicia in the row of any home team at what times vand with what teams it engages in contests at home. Also, by picking out and following the recurrence vof indicia of any particular team itis possible to readily determine the itinerary of that team as visitors from city to city. Again it will be observed that the upper four rows of the schedule shown are assigned to a sub group of eastern teams and the lower four rows to a sub group of western teams. During about the first third ofthe schedule shown the indicia 12 are distributed fairly equally through spaces in all of the rows. Therefore, the'card indicates that during this early period some eastern teams are in the west and some western teams in the east. During about the fneXt thirdof the schedule shown indicia are applied substantially only to spaces in the lower `four rows and in the linal third of the schedule shown to' only the upper four rows. The schedule therefore graphically indicates first an invasion of the west by eastern teams and then the invasion of the east by western teams.

The schedule may also be provided with suitable special indicia for indicating special or particular events such for example, as a double header or the occurrence of two contests between a given. pair of teams on a.

single day. ln the schedule'shown in the drawings this special indicia comprises a pair offshort parallel horizontal lines, as

-indicated atv 17 which are applied t0 any given space in addition to the indicia 12. Other special marking may be employed for the same purpose.

It is, of course, obvious that the invention described may be used for a variety of pur- For example, it may be used to indicate the schedules of baseball teams, tennis contests, football games, golf, hockey and other athletic contests, debating contests and in fact may be used wherever a series of groups or individuals meet at various places on assigned dates throughout a given period. The invention may also be used ttor business purposes, as where a number ot salesmen or other employees of a company desire information about their travels, duties and the like.

It is also obvious that the schedule may be produced in many ways, such as by printing, lithographing. photography or the like and that color Aor character of marking are equally suitable as special indicia.

What I claim is:

1. A. schedule for engagements between teams of a group, or for like purposes, comprising a card having the area thereon suitably divided into parallel rows of spaces arranged transversely in columns, each row being provided with indicia assigning it to a designated team of the group. and each column being provided with indicia designating a particular time during the engaging period, some of the spaces so assigned to a designated team being provided with suitable indicia corresponding to other teams of the group and thereby indicating engagements with such other teams at the several times corresponding to such space.

2. A schedule for engagements between teams of a group, or for like purposes, comprising a card having the area thereon suitably divided into parallel rows of spaces arranged transversely in columns. each row being provided with indicia assigning it to a designated team of the group. and each column being provided with indicia designating a particular time during the engaging period. some of the space so assigned to a designated team being provided with suitable indicia corresponding to other teams ot the group and thereby indicating engagements with such other teams at the several times corresponding to such space. and by the row in which such indicia appear also indicating location of the engagement.

3. A schedule of the class described, oomprising a card having the area thereon snitably divided into transversely arranged rows and columns of spaces, each row having applied thereto means indicating days during the engagement period. said card being also provided with varying indicia, one for each. team, whereby the appearance ot one of said indicia. in any space indicates by the row in -which said space appears the identity of the home team and by the character of. the indicia the identity of the visiting team for a given engagement and by the column in which it appears the time of the engagement.
