Condensed milk, and other similar liquids, are usually removed from the can by male ing two small openings therein, one for the admission of air and the other for the flow o f the liquid.

- all of the liquid can not be poured from the can by the simple tilting thereof, but the latter portions thereofcan be removed only by a shaking process.
It is also evident that the pressed edges of the top around the opening will act as a flange and prevent the removal of all the liquid by a flowing move ment thereof. 7
The, device or my invention overcomes both of these difficulties, as by its employment the opening is made at the extreme pet riphery of the top and the impressed metal is forced flush with the-side of the can, thus offering no impediment to the outward flow of the entire contents when the can is tilted.
Further, when a series of connected openings are made by my device around the outer periphery of the top, the line of sepa- 1 ration forms a smo'othvedge around both the side of the can and the top ofthe can.

The operation of this modifiediorm of my device is as follows The guideand punch are placed, as described above, and the handle 16 pressed downwardly, this producing an elongated opening, or slot, along the outerperiphery of the can top. The guide is then moved slightly and the operation repeated, the openingthus formed producing an elongated opening connecting with the first opening. By repeating this operation, a portion, or the entire, of the top may be cut pressed there through. i
