Description

N. DIAL.
MEDICINE BOTTLE APPLICATION FILED SEPT- 30, 1919.
1,425,456. Patented Aug. 8, 1922.
VIII/ll): 1/111 WITNESSES:
UltiTEfi TATES NATHANIEL DIAL, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
MEDICINE BOTTLE.
Application filed September 30, 1919.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NATHANIEL DIAL, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Medicine Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has relation to combination implements, and has for an object to provide a device which includes a cork screw particularly adapted for removing the corks from medicine bottles, a spoon associated therewith, and an indicator for indicating the time at which a dose of medicine is to be taken.
In addition to the foregoing, this invention comprehends improvements in the de tails of construction and arrangement of parts, to be hereinafter described and particularly set forth in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawings in which similar and corresponding parts are de signated by the same characters of reference throughout the several views in which they appear.
Figure l is a view in perspective of my invention.
Figure 2 is a view thereof in longitudinal section, and
Figure 3 is a View in top plan.
lVith reference to the drawings, 10 indicates a disk which is apertured centrally to receive the shank 11 of a cork screw 12. The shank is pinched at both sides as at 13 forming an abutment to secure the shank to the disk 10, and the upper end of the shank is upset or formed with a head 14: which engages a pointer or indicator 15, the latter being apertured to receive the shank. in this manner the shank of a cork screw serves as a means to pivot the indicator and to secure the latter in place. The surface of the disk 10 is provided with a series of time indication 16 or graduations. The disk 10 is also formed with an integrally formed extension 17 which is bent at right angles and formed at its opposite end with a spoon bowl 18.
Specification of Letters Eatent.
Patented Aug. 8, 1922.
Serial No. 327,527.
In use, when it is desired to remove a cork the cork screw is inserted in the cork as shown in Figure 2 in the usual manner and by grasping the disk and the spoon simultaneously suliicient pressure may be exerted to readily remove the cork. However the cork screw is' left in the cork and my device becomes a part thereof. When the cork is replaced in the bottle'it will be observed that the spoon bowl may lie parallel and in close relation to the side of thebottle. The spoon is thus always in a position to be used in taking a dose of medicine. The pointer 15 may be rotated, after each dose of medicine is taken to indicate the time at which the next dose is to be taken. Thus, my device comprises in combination a reminder, a 'cork screw and a spoon. in co-relative combination making the device a great source of convenience. Other uses and advantages will readily occur to those skilled with the use of such device.
While I have illustrated and described my invention with some degree of particularity, I realize that in practice various alterations therein may be made. I therefore reserve the right and privilege of changing the form of the details of construction or otherwise altering thev arrangement of the correlated parts without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is: i
In combination, a stopper, a disk fixed to one end of the stopper and a handle formed on the edge of the disk and extending in the same direction with the stopper.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
NATHAN DIAL. [n s] Witnesses R. TEXIN, H. Sorrow.
