Be it known that I, lVILMor F. Cnozrnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Osceola, in the county of Polk and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottles, of which the following is a specification. I

This invention relates to bottles, the primary object of which is to produce a bot tle which would be impractical to refill thereb discouraging the spurious practice of refilling the bottle with an inferior material for resale as the product of the origi nal manufacturer.

Other objects of the invention are to provide a bottle which will be simple in construction and inexpensive to manufacture; to provide a bottle from which the contents may be quickly, conveniently and completely dispensed; to provide a bottle from which the contents may be dispensed in difl'erent volumes; and to provide a bottle which may be quickly opened without the use of extraneous means. v

The above and other objects of this invention will be in. part described and in part understood from the following description of the present preferred embodiment of the invention taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein Fig. 1 is a fragmentary vertical Sectional view of a bottle constructed in accordance with this invention.

Fig. 2 is a side elevational view thereofshowing one side of the neck.

Fig. 3 is a similar view showing the opposite side of the neck and Fig. 4 is a cross sectional view taken on the line 44 of Fig. 1 looking in the direction of the arrow.

In use of this invention. it is immaterial what type of body is used since it may be of any desired configuration, thickness, color, etc., without having any bearing whatsoever on the device of this invention. Consequently, only a very small portion 5 of the body of the bottle is shown in the drawings having issuing therefrom a neck generally designated 6. Preferably the body and neck of the bottle are blown simultaneously, the mold being so constructed that the outer end 7 of the neck will be closed and preferably of a semi-spherical configuration. The neck may be of any desired exterior configuration, it being shown in Fig. 4: of the Specification of Letters Patent.

The neck is provided, adjacent its outer end, with diametrically opposite openings whlch preferably vary in diameter to perput the contents of the bottle to be dispensed in different volume if so desired. Also as is apparent proper venting of the bottle will be permitted by this construction. The larger of the openings has a stopper 10 mounted thereon which may be made of cork or any. other suitable material and has a head 11 formedon its outer end which simultaneously engages the outer periphery of the bottle neck. By preferance the inner end of the stopper extends inwardly for an appreciable distance beyond the wall 8 through which it passes. A closure 12 is arranged in the opposite opening, this closure being likewise made of cork or other suitable ma terial and having a head 13 formed thereof which engages the periphery of the bottle neck. This stopper likewise has its inner end extended appreciably beyond the inner wall of the side 8 through which it penetrates.

When it is desired to remove the contents of the bottle pressure is exerted upon the key late 16 so as to break ofll the head thereby permitting the rod 14 to be Withdrawn through the closures l0 and 18. The closures may then be readily removed in an apparent manner and liquid dispensed'through either one of 'the openings formed in the neck of the bottle. It is preferred that the key plate 16 carry the trade-mark oithe original'mam ufacturer. Moreover, the bottle may be otherwise suitably marked to reduce possibility of refilling the same, by unauthorized manufacturers, to a minimum. Consequent- 1y, although the bottle can be refilled nevertheless it can be done so practically only through the use of especially designed filling means and can be closed likewise only through the use of especial means. Gonsequently refilling of the bottle by any one other than the original manufacturer, who is equipped With the especial facilities for refilling, is discouraged.
