DISPENSER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 27, 1922.
Application filed September 7, 1920. Serial No. 408,549.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, Gnoncn PARKER and CHARLES J. DARABAN, citizens of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented new and useful Improvements in Dispensers, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a dispenser and more particularly to a dispenser for dispens ing pasty material and has for its primary object the construction of a dispenser that will free a quantity of mustard in a direction to spread the same upon eatables= An object of the invention is the construction of a dispenser the various parts of which are so constructed and arranged that they may be readily removed for cleaning purposes.
A feature of our invention is the novel manner of arranging the parts so that by turning the bot-tom a relatively thin, broad flare of mustard will be forced from the dispenser.
lVith these and other objects in view the invention will be better understood from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein:
Fig. 1 is a side elevation of the dispenser.
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view.
Fig. 3 is a top plan view.
Fig. at is a horizontal sectional view.
Fig. 5 is a detailed view of the plunger.
Again referring to the drawing illustrating one of the many constructions of our invention the numeral 1 designates the casing of the dispenser to the upper portion of which is screw-threaded a top 2. The lower portion of the casing is provided with a bead 3 receiving the flange 4 of the bottom 5 with the result that the bottom is free to have circular action with relation to the casing and feeding means consisting of a plunger 6 slidable in the casing but held against turning movement. This plunger has a screw threaded connection with the feed screw 7. This screw has its upper end mounted in the bearing 8 pressed from the cap and its head 9 detachably mounted in a clip 10 secured to the bottom. To complete the invention we provide a slot 11 in the top communicating with the relatively broad spout 12 that is provided With a relatively broad, thin delivery outlet so that when the feed mechanism is operated a relatively thin layer of mustard or similar material will be forced from the spout.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing it will be apparent that we provide a dispenser of simple, inexpensive construction which will dispense a relatively thin layer and which is of such a construction that the various parts may be readily disconnected for cleaning purposes which makes our dispenser very sanitary.
It is, of course, to be understood that the invention may be constructed in various other manners and the parts associated in different relations and therefore, we do not desire to be limited in any manner except as set forth in the claim hereunto appended.
Having thus described our invention what we claim is:
A dispenser comprising a casing, a top screw-threaded thereto and provided with a spout and having a centrally arranged hearing, a clip attached to the bottom of the casing and provided with a hole, a plunger, and a feed screw having a head port-ion detachably arranged in said hole, and its other end mounted in said bearing and engaging said plunger.
In testimony whereof we aifiX our signatures.
GEORGE PARKER. CHAS. J. DAR-ABAN.
