To a lZ wIiOmct mag concern. I I L 1,139 1 it known -,thatYJBLEssI-E E-.- AK'ERS,L a citizen of the .United States, residin -at "Thrift, in the county ofNVichita and tate of. Texas, has invented certain new and use.

-which thezfoll'owing; isla specification reference. being had to thea'ccompanying dra'w- 'ings.
This invention relates to babyn'et frames and hastor its objectftoprovide a device of this character capable ofholdingfthe' net in spaced relationto 'the bed or supp'ort Lon which itis placed.
;.A-nother ob ect 's to provide va device (of this character capable of being readily folded when not in' use and: stored in a small space. a: I: i, i A still further ob'ject ofthelinyeiitioni'isv to provide a deviceof:this"character'wherein 'the various parts otthe d evic are held rlgi'd when thef'rame'asextended and in use,

A still further objectioi ithe'invention.is to provide a device of this icharacterlincluding a hub'member to:which:a pluralitywot ribs are connected said hub meinber beinlz allot the ribs are held'stationaryi lV-iththe abovefland other objectsin view,
the invention consists invthe imprved construction and arrangement-of parts "to be hereinafter a more particularly described, 'tullyclaimed and-illustrated in theaccompanying drawings; in which Figure 1 is a top plan view of a mosquito ,net' fra m'e constructed in accor'dance with a embodiment of the invention,
Figure 2 is a sectional View taken on the line 2-2 of Figure 1,*
Figure 3 is a view in elevation of the hub member, the ribs being-removed,
Figure 4 is a fragmentary view showing the connection of the braces to the ribs of the frame, and
Figure 5 is a detail perspective view of the brake joint brace.
Referring to the drawings, 5 designates a hub member stamped tromnietal, and including an annular flange 6 and a centrally projecting boss '7 by means of which the device may be readily handled. The upper surface of the hub member 5 is provided with a plurality of radiating channels 9 which extend from the periphery of theboss 7 to the flange 6. To prevent disengagement ot the clamping plate, a plurality of. locking with the upper surface of the clamping plate 18 to force the plate into engagement with the upper surface of -the'.,hu b member. It will be readily seen. that with this clamping plate in position, itis impossible for the'ribs 13 to accidentally fold and at the same time the frame is rendered substantial."
vided a plurality of brake joint bracesv 21,. each brace consisting of a rod 22having a bifurcated end23 and a 111;; 24; projecting from its opposite end. This lug is adapted to be received in a recess 25 provided in the bar 26 of the brace, the side portion 27 of the recess being closed so as to limit movement of the brake joint of the brace in one direction and hold the ribs extended.
The opposite end 28 ofythe rod 26 is bifurtoward the hub member it serves to spread the. ribs and the fabric strip 16 so as to hold the frame in theproper position. In addition to this the braces serve as supports to prevent the mosquito netting or cloth sup ported by the frame from sagging or falliI-lg between the ribs.
-When'it is desired to fold the frame, the locking fingers 20 are disengaged from the clamping plate 18 to permit the plate to be removed from the hub member and the boss 7 thereof. The brake joint portion of each brace formed by the lug 24 and recess 25 is moved away from the hub member to cause the rods 22 and 26 to move toward each other together withthe ribs so as to facilitate folding of the frame. The frame is thereby rendered compact. 1 I
From the foregoing it will be readily seen that this invention provides a novel form of mosquito net frame which holds'the mosquito net the desired distancefrom the bed and occupant so that there is no chance of the hands of the 'occupant of the bed becoming entangled in the netting. At'the same time, it holdsthe'net in such a position that it is impossible for insects to enter the dome formed by the frame. All of these features are possessed by a device that is simple in construction.
' What is claimed is 2 1. A device of the character described comprising an annular hub member, a boss projecting from the intermediate portion of said member, the upper surface of said.
from the periphery of the boss to the peripher of the hub member, said hub memher having a recess at the outer end of each channel and having an annular groove in the periphery ofsaid hub member, a wire disposed in said groove and extending across. therecesses at the ends of the channels, a plurality of ribs, each of said ribs having one end portion thereof arranged to extend into one of the channels and havinganj eye adapted to receive a portion of the wire disposed in the groove of the hub m-ember,-and means for holding the adjacent end portions of the ribs in the channel in the upper face of the hub member.
" 2. A device of the character described comprising an annular hub member, a boss projecting from the intermediate portion of said, member, the upper surface of said member being provided with a'plurality of radiating channels, said channels extending from the p'eripheryof the boss to the periphery of the hub member, said hub member having a recess at the outer end of-each channel, and having an annular groove in the periphery of said hub member, a wire disposed in said groove and extending across the recesses at the ends of the channels, a plurality of ribs,=each ofsaid ribs having one end portion thereof arranged to extend into one of the channels and having an eye adapted to receive a portion of the wire disposed in the groove of the hub member, and a ring adapted to extend over the boss and to engage the upper surface of the hub member to retain the adjacent ends of the ribs within the channels, and means carried by the boss for holding said ring-in -engagemen't with the hub member and boss.
