attached to the middle section of the beltor waist band of the overalls. To accomplish this requires that the waist band or belt be attached to the overalls, that then the suspenders be attached to said belt and then the suspenders must be sewed to one another at their intersection. Also before attaching, the suspenders must be bound or hemmed, constituting another necessary operation.

The object of my invention is to simplify th construction of overalls having suspenders attached to them, and to eliminate several of the operations now necessary to complete such overalls.

My improvement comprises overalls having the rear edges inclined upward from the hip portions and terminating in a point, and two suspenders having a constant width througl'iout attached'to the upper edge of the rear portion of the overall. one end of one suspender beginning at one hip of the garment and one end of the other suspender beginning at the other hip of the garment, then each extending along the upper edges of the rear portion of the overall until the suspenders intersect one another. Beyond this intersection the suspenders function as ordinary suspenders on the ordinary over alls.

The steps of forming the suspenders and of attaching them to the overalls, are as follows The upper edge 1 of the overall is lelt unfinished as shown at 1 on Fig. i. The suspenders 2 and 3 are made of two strips -l: and 5. Edges- 6 and 7 of suspender'Q are inturned and secured together by a line of stitching 8. The other edges of the suspender are then inturned, the Suspender is fitted over the edge 1 of the overalls Q and a line of stitching 10 is passed through the inturned edges and the material of the overalls. Then suspencler 8 is attached. Suspender 3 is constructed the same we as in suspender 2 except in that the two strips comprising suspcnder 2 pass between or separate the two strips i and 5 comprising suspender 3 at the intersection of the suspenders. The lines of stitching 8 and in. binding strips 4 and 5 into suspender also pass through strips i and constituting suspender2 at this point of intersection. Buttons 11 are attached to the suspenders.

Having thus described my invention.

what I claim is Overalls having a V shaped upper edge off the back portion left unfinished, two binding strips each formed of two strips of material with their edges inturned, the aforesaid unfinished edge being inserted between th strips. one of said binding strips passing between the strips forming the other of said binding strips, both binding strips extending beyond such mentioned point of intersection, lines of stitching passing through the inturned edges and through said inserted portion of the overalls and the stitching in the second mentioned binding strip passing through the first mentioned binding strip at their intersection.
