Be it known that l, C marine T. STEW'ART, a citizen of the United States, and residing at Scotch Plains, in the county cf'Unlon and i tate of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Devices, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to game devices,

separate parts of my improvement are de s ignated by suitable reference characters in each of the views, and in which:

Figure 1 is a plan view showing one form of my improved game device;

Fig. 2 a side view thereof; and,

Fig. 3 a central longitudinal section through the device but showing a modification.

In the practice of my nvention, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, I provide a main body portion at having a handle a", and this. body portion a with its handle a is made in the form of an ordinary tennis racket, the part a being of substantially or appror-rimately elliptical form and having an interior open or network a Mounted on the body portion a of the device is a ball cage member comprising a top part b and legs 5 and forming in connection with the body portion a a complete ball cage adapted to receive and hold a ball 0. The top part Z) ct the ball cage member, in the construction shown, is composed of .wire and fashioned to form four corner circular portions 5 and a central circular portion 6 through which the ball 0 is adapted to pass, and these parts form in connection with the body a five separate ball receiving receptacles or chambers in the construction shown. The legs 5 are rotatably connected with the part 79 and are provided near the lower ends thereof with yoke-shaped parts Z)? provided at their lower ends with leg portions 5 having set screws 6 by means of which the cage of which the accompanying drawing forms a part, in which the y member may 'be detachably connected with the body a, as clearly shown in Fig. 2, and the legs 6 are rotatably connected with the part 7) and maybe folded inwardly as indi cated in dottedlines in Fig. 2 so that the entire cage portion of the device with the exception'of the body a maybe compactly folded and laid on, or'placed'in said body,

for convenience in transportation, carrying about, or shipping.

In Fig. 3 of the drawing, I have shown a modification in which I substitute for the racke -shaped portion a, a solid body portion {Z having a handle d and made from a board or other suitable material, and with this exception the modification shown in l ig. 3 is constructed and operated in playing the game in the same way as is the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2.

In playing the game, the handle of the body portion is grasped in one hand and the ball held in the other, and said ball is thrown upon the floor, ground or pavement with sufficient force to cause it to. bound upwardly, andin its descent the ball may be caught in one of the ball receptacles of the device, and said ball receptacles may be given different numbers and a player may have any desired number .ofvplays, andvany desired number may play the game, and the number of the receptacle in which the ball is caught will be counted by the player, and

the player winning the greatest number of points will win the game, the numbers of the ball receptacles may be placed on said receptacles, if desired, or. theymay be placed on a score card having apicture of the device, but my invention is not limited to any particular'method of counting or scoring a game, nor to the exact details of construction herein shownanddescribed, and changes therein" and modifications thereof maybe made, within the scope of the appended claims, without departing from the s airit of my invention or sacrificing its advantages.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a game-device of the class described, a body portion provided with a ball cage member and forming in connection with the body portion ball receptacles adapted to receive a ball, said cage member having rotatably mounted legs by which it may be detachably connected with the body portion.

2. The herein described attachment for temiis rackets comprising a ball cage member adapted to be detachably connected with the body portion of the racket and to form in connection therewith ball receptacles of which said body portion forms the bottom.

3. The herein described attachment for tennis rackets comprising a ball cage member forming in connection with said body portion receptacles adapted to receive a ball, said cage member being provided with legs which are rotatably connected therewith and may be detachably connected with the body portion.

4. A game device of the class described comprising a body portion and a cage member, devices foldably connected with said cage member and adapted to be detachably connected with the body portion to support said cage member parallel therewith.
