To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, J osnrn L. FORSYTH and AMOS BOPP, citizens of the United States, residing at Baltimore, in the State of Mar *land, have invented certain new and useful mprovements inPower Mechanism, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in power mechanism, and has for its ob'ect to provide a simple and efficient means or increasing the revolutions and consequently the speed of the shaft of the device to be driven.
The invention consists of the novel construction and arrangement of the parts and combination of parts hereinafter more fully set forth in the following specification, and pointed out in detail in the appended claims:

Fig. 3 is a vertical section of Fig. 1 just back of one side of the frame.
Fig. 4 is an end view of the crank-shaft.
Fig. 5 is a detail view of Fig. 1.
Referring to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, 1 designates the sides of the frame which are connected by the webs 2. At one end of the frame is mounted a shaft 3 which is connected with and driven by the motor 4. The said shaft 3 is provided with a series .of cam-wheels 5 each having a number of cams 6 projectin therefrom. At the top of the frame 1 and in the center thereof is a shaft 7 on which is mounted a number of rock-arms 8, each of which has one end bent downwardly and both ends of which are bifurcated in the downwardly projecting 'end of which each of said lock arms 8 is mounted a roller 9 revoluble on the pin 10. The said rollers 9 rest upon and travel over the cams 6 when the device is in operation.
The opposite ends of the rock-arms 8 are each connected by a link 11 to one of the cranks 12 of the crank-shaft 13, the latter being mounted at the opposite end of the frame 1. The said links 11 are pivoted in one end of the rock-arms 8.
The shaft 3 is driven by the motor 4 and causes the cam-wheels 5 to revolve. As the cam-wheels 5 revolve with said shaft 3 the cams 6 cause the rock-arms 8 to rock on the shaft 7 and revolve the crank shaft 13. It will thus be seen that each cam 6 causes a complete revolution of the crankshaft 13 and as there are four cams on each wheel 5 the shaft 13 will be revolved four times to each revolution of the shaft 3, there by greatl increasing the speed of the crank shaft an conse uently the machine or device driven thereiby.
Having thus described our invention What we claim is:
In a power mechanism, a frame, a shaft mounted on one end of said frame, a series of cam-wheels mounted upon said shaft and each having a number of cams thereon, a shaft mounted in the top of the frame in the center thereof, a number of rock arms mounted on the shaft at the top of said frame and each being bifurcated on both ends and each having one end projecting downwardly, a roller mounted in the downwardly projecting end-of each of said rock arms and each impinging against one of said camwheels, a crank shaft mounted in the oposite end of said frame and having a numer of cranks thereon, and a number of links each being pivoted between the bifurcated end of one of said rock arms and connected at its opposite end to one of said cranks.
