To all whom it may concern i Be it known that I, ADoLrH OLEVIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of l Vayne and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Loom-Plates and Hangers, of which the following is a spoolfication.
My invention relates to loom plates and means for suspending the same from an overhead track. The object is to provide a loom plate of the usual form, and means whereby the same may be suspended from a cleat hanger or overhead track of peculiar construction so as to support considerable weight, the suspension means belng so fashioned that the plate may be positioned on the cleat or track from which it is suspended by the adjustment of a screw; the
track and the supporting means depending therefrom being so constructed that when the adjustment screw is tightened the plate is perfectly centered and an exceedingly secure jointure is made between the hanger and track.
The device is in form as follows Figure 1 is a vertical cross section.

by two parallel supporting arms j. and is. which extend outwardly and upwardly therefrom and project up through the loom plate through the passageways hereinbefore referred to, and are bent over at their extremities in the form of a hook to overhang the U shaped side flanges 0. and d. of the track.
Internally at its upper extremity, the tubular section flares outwardly forming an oblong enlarged passageway, as at Z. so that the substantially square nut will have its corners engaged by the narrowed opposed ends of this oblong enlarged opening. The outward flare of the passageway'and the size of the nut a. will prevent the nut from falling through the passageway, and the oblong character of the flare will prevent rotation of the nut as the corners are engaged by the narrowed ends of the flared opening. This nut n. carries an adjusting screw m. threaded therethrough so as to be forced upwardly against the loom plate clamping the supporting members It. and j. down firmly over the U shaped side flanges of the track and holding the device firmly in position.
It will be seen that in the positioning of the fixture, the loosening of the adjusting screw will permit the hanger to be moved longitudinally of the cleat or track I). so
' that the flxture'may be positioned where desired.
It is further apparent that due to the peculiar construction of the track member, a comparatively light construction will support a considerable weight, and that the tendency toward lateral displacement of the fixture where a flat bar is utilized as a cleat and the fixture is a heavy one, will be overcome, because the hanger will be rigidly positioned against such form of lateral distortion.
While it will be apparent that the illustrated embodiment of my invention herein disclosed is well calculated to adequately fulfil the objects primarily stated, it is to v be understood that the invention is susceptible to variation, modification and change within the spirit and scope of the subjoined claims.
Having "described my invention, I claim: '1. In a device of the class described, a
supporting bar in the form of an inverted U, with upwardlyextending side flan es forming parallel troughs on either side,a
loom plate, means for supporting a fixture positioned below said loom plate, provided with two parallel upwardly extending arms projecting through said loom plate on op posite sides of said bar, said arms being bent over at their extremities so as to overhang the side flanges of said troughs, means for tightening said loom plate against said bar.
2. In a device of the class described, a supporting bar in the form of a double U with an intervening section at the upper extremity of its inner side walls, a loom plate, a tubular fitting provided with two opposed upwardly extending arms projecting through said loom plate one on either side of said U bar, said arms bent over at their upper ends to hook over the side flanges of said bar, an adjusting screw carried internaily of said tubular fitting adapted to impinge said loom plate} as the screw is tightened and exert downward pull on said upwardly extending arms which engage the supporting bar.
3. In a device of the class described, a supporting bar in cross section in the form I of a pair of U shaped parallel troughs spaced apart with an intervening web section, a loom plate, a tubular fitting adapted to support a fixture and provided with two opposed upwardly extending arms projecting through said loom plate on either side of said supporting bar said arms bent over at their upper ends to engage the side flanges of said troughs, a screw carried in ternally of said tubular fitting adapted to impinge said loom plate as the screw is tightened and provided with means to exert downward pull on said fitting so as to clamp the overhanging ends of said upwardly projecting arms firmly over the side flanges of said troughs.
4. In a device of the class described, a supporting bar in cross section in the form of an inverted U with upwardly extending side flanges forming U shaped parallel troughs one'on either side of said inverted U a loom plate, a tubular fitting the interior; of which flares in oblong form at its upper extremity, upwardly extending arms carried by said fitting bent over at their upper extremities to, engage the side flanges of said bar, a nut loosely carried in the flared oblong opening of said tubular fitting provided with an adjusting screw axially threaded therethrough said nut shaped so as to be engaged by the narrowed ends of the oblong flared opening in said tubular fitting to prevent rotation thereof coincident with the rotation of the screw, said screw to be tightened so as to impinge the loom plate and exert downward pull on the upwardly extending arms which overhang the supporting bar.
