APPLICATION FILED APR-22, (9Z1- l,390, 157. PatentedSept. 6, 1921.
I N VEN TOR.
' v ATTORNEY.
GEORGE E.
OI-IDE, 0F MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN.
TRAY.
Application filed April 22, 1921.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, Gnonen E. OHDE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of l/Visconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Trays, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a tray and has for its primary object the construction of a tray that will support knives, forks and spoons in position to drain.
11 object of the invention is the construction forks and spoons after the same has been used so that the accumulation thereon may drain to a position that the same will not soil other articles.
A feature of my invention is the novel manner of constructing the tray so that the knives, forks and spoons and material from the same may drain to the bottom of the tray where the accumulation may be readily re moved after the cooking has been performed.
Besides the above my invention is distinguished in the novel manner of stamping the same which will materially reduce the cost of manufacture.
With these and other objects in view the invention will be better understood from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein:
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the tray.
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view.
Fig. 3 is a detail sectional view.
Again referring to the drawing illustrating one of the many constructions of my invention'the numeral 1 designates a tray having a solid bottom 2 and an u standing wall 3 that provides the sides 4 and ends 5. The bottom 2 is pressed to form supporting ribs 6 so that when the spoons or forks rest thereon as shown in the drawing the material draining from the spoons or forks drops into the bottom of the tray and may be readily removed by washing thereby preventing soiling of the stove Specification of Letters Patent.
of a tray that will support the knives,
Patented Sept. 6, 1921. Serial No. 463,738.
porting plate 8. The plate 8 is further the knives, forks and spoons so as to prevent slipping.
One of the ends 5 has secured thereto a flange 11 so that the blade 12 of the knife may engage thereon and prevent tilting.
0 complete the invention 1 provide handles 13. The edge portion of the tray is rolled as lndlcated at 14 to give strength to the same.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings it Wlll be seen that I provide an inexpensive tray that will support in place knives, forks spoons so that accumulation thereon may dram therefrom. It is, of course, to be understood that the invention may be construction in various parts associated in v and therefore, I do not desire to be limited in any manner except as set forth in the claims hereunto appended.
Having thus described claim is:
1. A tray for supporting knives forks and spoons stamped to provide a bottom provided with up standing ribs and up standing side walls, a supporting plate held in an upright position to support the handles of said knives forks and spoons, and a flange secured to the tray to support the lade portion of the kn'ves.
2. tray having a bottom provided with up standing ribs, side walls, a flange secured to one of the side walls adjacent said ribs, and a supporting plate removably held in place by tongues and beads struck from the plate, said plate being provided with notches.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
GEORGE E. OHDE.
