The positions of the fixed and removable riveters 11 and 15 can be reversed without departing from the spirit of my invention.
It will be apparentfrom the foregoing that the operator withwone foot ashis left foot can readily control the action of the pneumatic holder-on, seen at the right of Figs. 1,8, and 4, andwith hisother foot as the right can control the starting and stopping of the reciprocations of the hamjmering pistons of the fixed and adjustable riveters 11 and 15, all withoutfatigue, and in addition the operator is not subjectedto the jar and vibration-incident to the opera- I tion of the riveters. By theiconjointoperation of the two alined' riveters the rivets will be expeditiously and effectively driven, since the pneumatic holder-on coa cts: in a very effective manner during the riveting operation as will be evident to-those skilled in the-art. It will now be apparent th ai .have'devised a novel and useful constructionof a double riveting machine which embodies the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description, and'while I have, in I the present instance, shown and described a preferred embodiment thereof which will be found in practice to give satisfactory and reliable results, it is to be understood that'the same is susceptible of modification in various particulars without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention or sacrificingany of its advantages.

horizontal pneumatic tool movable upon the other of said standardsoperatively alinedtool fixed upon one. of said standards, a
horizontal pneumatic tool adjustable upon the other of saidistandards toward and from. saidfirst tool and operatively alined therewith, foot-actuated means under the control of the operatorfor longitudinally positioning the adjustable tool,and a second foot actuated means similarly under the control of the operator for simultaneously operating both tools. 7

A riveting machine in which are combined the following elements :a supporting framework which comprises two separated verticalstandards, a horizontal pneumatic tool fixed upon one of said standards, a horizontal pneumatic tool upon the other ofsaid standards horizontally alined with the first tool, a seat for the operator below said latter tool, anda foot actuated motive fluid supply below said seat and under the control of the foot of the, operator for simultaneously operating :both tools.

A riveting machine in which are combined the following elements :a supporting framework which comprises two separated standards, a horizontal pneumatic tool fixedupon one of said standards, a horizon-v tal pneumatic tool adjustable upon the other of said standards toward and from said first tool and horizontally alined therewith, a seat for theoperator below said adjustable tool, a foot actuated motive fluid supply below said seat and underithe control of the operator 'for longitudinally positioning the adjustable tool, and another foot actuated motive fluid supply similarly under the control of the operatorfor simultaneously op? erating botlrtools. A riveting machine in which are combined the following elemcnts:.a supporting framework which comprises two separated upright standards, a tool bed plate mounted upon one of said standards for retaining in fixed horizontal position a pneumatic tool, means mounted upon the other of said standardsfor retaining in adjustable position' and in horizontal alinement with the first tool, an adjustable pneumatic tool, means on said frame work for guiding the forward portion of said adjustable tool, means under the control of the operator for longitudinally positioning the adjustable tool, and separate means similarly under the control of the operator for simultaneously operating both tools.

A riveting machine in which are combined the following elements :a supporting framework which comprises two separated upright standards, an angular bed plate having fastening devices thereon mounted upon one of said standards for retaining in horizontal fixed position a pneumatic tool, means mounted upon the other of said standards for retaining in adjustable position a'nd in horizontal alinement withthe first tool, an adjustable pneumatic tool, and a motive fluid supply underthe control of. the operator for simultaneously operating both tools. c

A riveting machine in which are combined the following elements :a supporting framework which comprises-two separated upright standards, means mounted upon one of said standards for retaining in fixed horizontal position a pneumatic tool, means mounted upon the other of --said standards for retaining-in adjustable position and inhorizoi'ital alinement with the first tool, an adjustable pneumatic tool, a foot actuated motive fluid supply under the control of the opcratorifor longitudinally positioning the adjustabletool, and a foot actuated motive fiuidsupply similarly under the control of the operator for simultaneously operating both tools, said foot actuated devices being 'located at the lower portion of oneof said standards at opposite sides thereof.
