To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NORMAN FIELD HUTGHI- SON, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and resident of Balwyn, near Melbourne, in the State of Victoria and Commonwealth of Australia, have invented certain new an useful Improved Files for Loose Sheets, of which the'following is a specification.
This invention relates to a paper file for the purpose of holding loose sheets such as bills, circulars, letters, accounts and different forms of correspondence. I
The object of the invention is to provide a paper file which will be of greater utility than those at present in use.
The essential feature embodied in the invention consists in the use of clipping or holding means arranged on bothsides of the backing or file support so that both sides of the saidsupport can be utilized for filing Fig. 4 is a View in perspective of the im proved double clip forming an essential feature of the invention. According to this invention the file consists of a solid supporting member a formed of cardboard or other material being of any preferred shape but preferably rectangular as illustrated.

What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
A loose sheet supporting sheet having an elongated horizontal slot adjacent the upper edge thereof; and a spring clip comprising two coils connected together integrally at their tops, the connecting portion of the clip passing through said elongated slot and engaging the lower edge of the slot whereby the clip is suspended from the loweredge of the slot, the coils of the clip having a normal 7 tendency to move toward each other to hold loose, sheets placed under the coils to each side of the supporting sheet, the lower edge of each coil being straight and upturned to facilitate the entrance of the edges of loose sheets between the supporting sheet and the coil.
