15v Q w upper edge of the blade will be subjected to the grinding action of the soil, and will thus be kept sufiiciently sharp for all practical purposes. When the device is used for thinning rows of growing plants, it may be of a width suflicient to leave the desired space between the stands, and a single stroke will thus be sufficient to remove the plants which it may be desired to destroy.
Having thus fully described my invention,
what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is:
A weeding hoe comprising an elongated fiat blade, provided at each end with a wing extendingtherefrom at a right angle therewith, the opposite edges of said blade and wings being beveled at their inner sides,
each of said wings having a circular head provided with a central aperture and with radial teeth at its inner side, a handle having a fork provided-with heads disposed at the inner side of the aforesaid heads, the fork heads having central apertures and radial teeth at their outer sides to engage the aforesaid teeth, and bolts extending through the apertures of the heads for pivoting the heads together and clamping them against one a'nother in pairs, the aperture of one head of each pair being of an ular form, and each bolt having an angular portion fitting in the corresponding angular aperture.
