Be it known that I, DANIEL Annonm, a cltizen of the French Republic, residing at Flushing, countyof Queens, State of New -York, have invented a new and useful G1m' Mounting, of which the following is as specification.

' mounted upon a common base or support in such a manner that their muzzles may be adjusted towardorfrom the common center of the group together with recoil mechanism of a novel nature.

In a previous application filed February 27, 1918, Serial No. 219,390, I showed a plurality of guns with deflecting muzzles and recoil mechanism for each gun and .this application is in the nature of an improvement on that type in that better control of the breech ends of the guns is maintained during the recoil period after firing.
I am aware of previous patents in the art in which a plurality of guns without recoil mechanism are shown mounted .on a common support so that their. muzzles may be defiected at will, but I have found it impractical in actual operation to obtain good results in non-recoiling guns of this type.

' In the casing 10 are a plurality of slots or ways 17, in which the guides 18 slide duringthe recoil travel of the guns, These guides also serve to secure together the front plate hand the su porting plate 19 which ,is provided with t e openings 20 in which the outer guns move when the muzzles are deflected, the gun 13 being secured to the plate 19.
As shown in Figs. 2Iand 5, on the TO FREDERICK breech end of the central gun 13 is fixed a disk 21 with an annular member 22 revolubly mounted upon its outer periphery. On this annular member are the handles 22-'22 and an internal gear 23 is cut in its front surface. Mounted on the rear ends of the threaded stems {25-25 are the pinions on the central gun which lock. into corresponding grooves in the disk. It is obvious from the foregoing description that rotation of the annular member 22 will effect the forward and backward movement of the deflecting disk 27.
The periphery of the disk 27 is provided with pairs of arms 29 provided with studs 30 which work in the slots 31 inclined to the axis of the barrel and formed in the members 32 which are mounted at 33 on the guns 12, and held in any desired position by means indicated at 34; whereby the deflection of the gun muzzles may be obtained by the angle of the said slots 31 with relation to the axis of the gun.
The recoil mechanism as shown consists i of cylindrical members 35' secured in any suitable manner to the casing 10, and supported'on the cradles 36 which are secured to the plate 11 and the supporting plate 19.
These cradles have a palr of rearwardly extending arms 37-37 with the cross member 38 at the rear end, inwhich are held vplungers 39 provided with pistons and seen that when the muzzles of the gunsare deflected and locked at the desired angle by the means 34 and then fired, the guns themselves, the plate 11 and the support 19 will all move together in recoil, the said recoil being taken up by the plurality of recoil cylinders and the deflected positions.
I claim 1, In a gun mounting, a casing; gun supporting means slidably mounted therein and comprising a plurality of plates provided with openings for the guns; a central gun fixedly mounted on said supporting means; a plurality of guns arranged around said central gun and pivotally mounted upon said supporting means; means for adjust ing the muzzles of said pivotally mounted guns with relation to the central gun and comprising adeflection disk mounted upon the central gun and provided with arms adapted to engage the slots on said guns dispose" at an angle to the axis thereof, the said deflection disk having threaded openings for engagement with stems adapted to be tion disk may be moved toward and from the front of the casing; and recoil mecha-- nism secured to said gun supporting means.
