Be it known that I, BUaTcHAELL Z. MATTHEWS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lake Butler, in the county of Bradford and State of Florida, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suction-Pi e Fittings; and I do hereby declare the ollowing to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention,
such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appcrtains to make and s ame.
This invention relates to suction pump attachments for wells and the primary object of the invention is to provide an improved means for connecting two pumps to a single well, whereby water ma at two spaced points from the we l.
Another object of the invention is to 'provide means for connectin a pair of suction pumps to a Well, in suc a manner, that either or both pum s can be operated without interfering wit the operation of either use the pump.
A still further object -of the invention is to provide an improved means for connecting a pair of vacuum pumps together, so that each pum will have a separate suction pipe, so that `t e operation of one pipe will not aifect the'eo'peration `of the other.
A still further objectof the invention is to provide an improved device of the above character, which is durable and eilicient in one that is simple and easy to manufacture, and one that can be placed upon the market at a reasonable cost.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and formation of arts, as will be hereinafter more specifical y described, claimed and illustrated in the accompan v ing drawings, forming a part thereof, '1n which:

As shown, the arm 6 is smaller in iameter than the arm 7 and the arms are internally* threaded so as to receive the threaded terminals of the suction'pilpcs 3 and 4. The arm 6 is separatedfrom t e arm 7 and leg 8 by means of a central partition 10 and the lower wall of the same is provided with a relatively small threaded opening 11, which is in direct alinement with thebore of the leg 8. A relatively large suction is turned into the leg 8 and extends mto the well below the water line thereof and receives the relatively small suction pipe 13 which has its upper end turned in the recess l be seen that the suction pipe 3 communicates with the relatively small suction pipe 13 and communicates with the relatively large suction Cpipe 12, so that the pumps may be prowith the independent suction plpes which extendinto the well and thus permit the independent operation of the pumps. The pi e 13 is also extended below the line o the well and does not in any way whatsoever interfere with the action of the outer pipe 12. When the pump which has the suctlon pipe 4 is operated; the water 'which is drawn upwardly will pass around the inner pipe 13 and partition 10 and out of thearm 7 intothe ipe 4.
From the foregoing description, it can be seen that an inproved means is provided for connecting a pair of vacuum pumps together in such a manner that the pumps may be operated independently of each other or simultaneously.
In practice, I have found that the form of my invention illustrated in the accompanyin above escription, as the preferred embodiment, is the most eiicient and practical; yet realizing the conditions concurrent with the adoption of my device will necessarily vary, I desire to emphasize that various minor changes in details of construction, proportion and arrangement of parts ma be resorted to, when required without sacrificing any of the advantages of my invention as set forth.

Matthews, of Lake Butler, Florida, for al1 improvement in Suction-Pipe Fittings," were erroneously issued to Edgar N. Millar es assignee of the entire interest in said invention, whereas said Letters Patent should have been issued to the inventor, seid Matthews, dnd Eiger W. Miller, said Miller being assignee of one-half interest only; the neme of said assignee was incorrectly Written and printed as "Edgar N. Miller, whereas said name should have been written and printed as Edgar W. Mier, as shown by the record of assignments in this oice; and that the said Letters Patent should be reed with these corrections therein that the same my conform to the record of the case in the Patent Omce.
