GAME APPARATUS.

Application filed August 19, 1918.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GUsTAv A. THOMAS,

a citizen of theUnited States, residing at over a board by a series of steps whereby a contest may be established and the player whose piece arrives at the destination first Wins the game. The advancement of the pieces is made according to the exposed indication of a die which is thrown or cast in a usual manner.

In the accompanying drawing Figure 1 is a plan view of the game apparatus.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the die used in connection with my game apparatus.

Fig. 3 is a similar view of the game piece.

The game apparatus comprises a board 1 of suitable material having a pound 2 marked or laid off thereon. The board is also provided with an area 3 which repre: sents a field or runway. Prints 4 are impressed in the pound 2 and one print is designated by the letter L and the other by the letter B. These prints represent the rint of a shoe and the L stands for left and It for right. The field 3 is Provided with similar prints 5 and these prints in turn are provided alternately with the letters L and R. The pieces 6 which are used in conjunction with the board are in the form of shoes and one piece bears the letter L and the other piece R. The die '7 is provided at two of its opposite sides with the letter L and at two other opposite sides with the letter R. The remaining opposite sides of the die are blank.

Various rules may be prescribed for using the apparatus to conduct a contest or game and one mode may be as follows :One player may select the left or L piece and the other player the R or right piece. These pieces are positioned upon their respective prints 4.- in the pound 2. One player then throws or casts the die 7. Should a blank space come uppermost no movement is made of the piece. Should the letter come at the upper surface of the die which corresponds with the letter upon the piece of the player who cast the die he may move his piece to the first print 5 on the field 3. The other player then casts the die and in the event that the letter corresponding with the let ter upon his piece comes uppermost his piece is advanced to the first print on the field. The die is continued to be cast or thrown and the pieces are moved around the field and the first piece to reenter the pound signifies that its owner has won the game or contest.

From the foregoing description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing it will be seen that a game apparatus of simple structure is provided and that the same may be used for amusement and other purposes.

Having described the invention what is claimed is A game apparatus comprising a board, a pound imprinted on the board, a field connected with the opposite sides of the pound and extending around one end thereof, characterized prints impressed in the pound and along the field, correspondingly characterized pieces adapted to be positioned upon the prints and moved successively along the prints and a die having opposite blank sides, other opposite sides provided with charac ters corresponding with the characters of one piece and other opposite sides provided with characters corresponding with the character of the other piece.
