To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JERRY GRncoR, a .citi- 'zen of the United States, resident of Grar-v field, county of Bergen, and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Smokers Utensils, of which the following is a specification.- y

This invention relates to improvements in utensils used by smokers, and particularly to types in which the ashes maybe collected, together with other debris from smoking, and prevented from being inadvertently disposed over adjacent surfaces.

The principal object of the invention is to provide an ash receiver having a'movable cover, close fitting over the mouth of the receptacle.

A further object is to combine with the receptacle means whereby a match box may be carried, and upon which cigars may be temporarily laid when in an ignited condition.

A still further object is to provide a combined cutter by means of which the end of a cigar may be clipped, and finally, to provide means whereby the entire contents may be disposed of at any convenient time.

These and other like objects are attained by the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and shown in the accompanying drawing, forming a material part of this specification, and in which,

The invention is composed of a cylindrical container 10, havlng a bottom or base 11,

extending slightly from the body, the upper portion of which is formed with a beading 12, receptive of an annular flange 14, se-

cured to the cover 15, having a flaring'edge slanting surface 18 through which is a central opening 19, permitting ashes or the like to enter the interior of the main body. Rigidly engaged with the cover are a plurality of arms 20, the same converging upward toward the center and being secured to a sleeve 21, in which is slidably engaged a stem 22, having at its upper end a match box holder 23, of the usual pattern.

Connected with the lower end of the stem 22, is the smaller end of a conical hood 24:, the

larger or base portion of which is of greater diameter than the opening 19, so that when pressed downward upon the conical portion 18, of the cover it closes the opening, but when raised, allows ashes or the like to slide freely down the inclined surface 18 into the receptacle.

Also secured upon the cover 15, are a plurality of curved open holders 25, adapted to receive cigars, cigarettes and the like, placed with their ignited ends v inwardly so the ashes, cut-ofi? cigar tips, etc., fall upon the conical surface 18, whereupon, the contents drop into the container. This operation is easily benefited or promoted by manipulating match box holder 23.

In order to provide means whereby the end of a cigar may be clipped, an opening 28 is formed through the side wall of the sleeve 21, adapted to receive the ends of a cigar 30-, while the stem 22, slidable within the sleeve, is made with a recess 31, the upper overhanging edge 32 of which may be used as a cutter in trimming a cigar and in order to provide against thestem turning with rela tion to the sleeve, the side opposite the cutter is formed with a keyway 34 which'engages with the end of a pin set in the sleeve. By raising or lowering the cigar box holder, a cigar may be clipped and the end dropped upon the conical surface 18 in the same manner as ashes are deposited.

When it is desired to remove the accumu lations of the container the cover and attached parts can readily be removed from the receptacle and the contents emptied.
