T o all whom t may concern.'
Be it knownthat I, HUGO PICK, a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Beverage-Shakers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description. v
The invention relates to beverage shakers. I
It is now Common practice to provide-beverage shakers which consist-oa drawn cupshaped' member having a substantially flat bottom connected to the fiared side by a subf stantially square corner, the corner being present as the result of the drawing 'and' The invention consists in the several novel i features hereinafter set forth and more particularly defined by claims at the conclusion hereof.
In the drawings: Figure 1 is a perspective of a shaker embodying the invention. Fig. 2 is a vertical section.
The body of the shaker is formed by drawing and spinning a piece of sheet metal to form a semi-spherical bottom 4 and a flared side 5. The bottom isset in a flanged or cup-shaped base 6 which is filled with solder -7 to fill the space between the body and the base and secure them together, as well as to make the base portion so heavy that it cannot readily tip over.
The base 6 is also spun or drawn fromsheet met-al to form a straight bottgln wall and a slightly aredslde wall 8 jolnlng ,at its upper end to the slde of the body.

In practice, it has been found that this device is veryl sanitary, because rinsing usually suiices to remove all matter adhering tothe semi-spherical bottom-portion and the body. The device can be produced at a low cost.
The invent-ion is not to be understood, as restricted to the details set forth, since these may be modified within the scope of the appended Claims, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to Secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A beverage shaker comprising a body formed of metal of substantially uniform thickness, having a substantially semispherical bottom and an upwardly flared side integra-l with said bottom, and a base comprising a bottom wall and an upwardly extending flange, said bottom wall and flange being integral4 and formed of sheet metal, the base flange extending around the semi-spherical bottom portion and being permanently united to the side of the body, the bottom wall olf the base forming a closure below Athe semi-spherical portion of the bottom. i
2. A beverage shaker, comprising a bodyr formed of metal of substantially uniform thickne, having a substantially semispherical bottom and an upwardlyflared side integral with said bottom, a base rigidly secured to the body and comprising a bottom wall and an upwardly extending ange, said bottom-wall and ange being Integral and formed of sheet metal, the base-ange extending around the semi-spherical bottom portion, and a filling between the base and the semi-spherical bottom.
