Be itknown that we, PETER ZUMB'ERG 'and JOSEPH SARDIN, citizens of the UnitedStates and Russia, respectively, residing at Detroit, county of 'Wayne, State ot Michigan, have inventeda certain-new and useful Improvement in Oil-Presses, and declare theollowing to be a full, clear, and exact description oi" the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this speciication. y
Our invention relates to presses and an object or' our improvements is to provide an improved apparatus for pressing the oil from various kinds of seed.

The container for the seed is formedby putting two halves of the cylinder p together, putting the outer envelop g around the cylinder p and passing a pin or bolt m through the registering openings of the lugs g3 and p3. The latter of which lugs are interposed between the lugs g3 in the openings The lugs g4 are then secured together by bolts and nuts.
The seed container thus formed is placed upon the carrier plate m, as shown in Fig. l, the seed placed within the hollow of the inner cylinder j? and the hydraulic pumps are set in operation forcing the plunger 7L upward carrying the carrier plate m and compressing the seed by means of the projection a passing into the cylinder 79, the oil running out through slots p4 in the latter cylinder and passing through the openings Q5 falling upon the carrier plate fm. which is hollowed out at its outer surface and running oii' in a spout m2.
