Speciicationforming part of Letters Patent No. 127,728, dated June 11, 1872.
Specification describing a new and Improved Mitering Attachment for Sawing-Machines, in-
vented by ANDREW A1TKEN,of East Corinth, in the county of Ora-nge and State of Vermont.
My invention consists in a mitering attachment adapted for application to any `saw-table. Figure lisa transverse section of my improved attachment taken on the line w a: of

This frame B is provided with a bar,`G, by which it may be bolted to a movable saw-table, or said bar may bek lowered and placed in a groove of a stationary saw-table, and serve as a guide by which to move the attachment part of the saw. Said bar G' can be shifted on said frame B toward or from the edge of A, according to the distance the edge of said table is required to be from the saw. In case there is no groove in the saw-table, a strip or bar of iron may be fastened thereon, adapted for the notches I in the lower side of frame B to fit on it, for
the attachment to Vbe guided thereby as it is moved along. The braces D are provided with a scale of degrees by which to set the table A for miters of any degree. On the face of this table A where the Work is to be placed is an adjustable guide, K, swiveled on' a bolt and thumb nut, L, and with India-rubber frictionpads M between it'and the table, which said guide is employed to adjust the sticks to be sawed for another miter at right angles to the one formed by the inclination of table A.
'This attachment will be placed on the sawtable with the lower edge of table A as close to the saw as required, and the work held up on it. It is then shoved along to carry the work to the saw in the same Way that any movable saw-table works.
Havingthus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The mitering attachment for saw-tables, consisting of base B, bar G movable in slots of said base, the curved arc-slotted braces D, and the hinged table A provided with adj nstable guide K, all constructed and arranged as described.
