From the peculiar combination and arrangement of the lens and figures pieces of stereoscope cases `as herein described, they becoine well adapted for application to porte jmonnaies, ladies work boxes, dressing cases, 4dac., and it is contemplated to x them therein, by making use of the lid of such cases for holding the figures, and attaching the lens piece by` means of the jointed pieces (E, E, E,) or their equivalents as described, using an outside flap or cover` proper, over the lens piece, or not, as expediency may suggest or require.

I am aware that an adjustable single flap, for holding the lenses in daguerreotype cases has been in use, but not being capable of preserving a parallelism, so as to suit the visual organs of diiferent persons, it does not possess or afford the accuracy and per fection required in perfect stereoscopic cases-the attainment of which accuracy and perfection, in a reduced and convenient case, is the object and result of my invention.

The jointed pieces (E) of Figs. l and 2 may be made of thin brass pieces hinged together-or, they may be made of paste board or any other suitable material, having their joints made of leather, or parchment, and

the whole covered with velvetor other suitable material.

Having thus described the construction and operation of my invention, I proceed to state `that I do not claim constructing a stereoscope case `with a singlel adjustable Hap, or supplementary lid within the case as such invention has been made and used before in daguerreotype cases-But `What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by` Letters Patent, is-
