The front stiffening;- member 14 is preferably starched, if made of cloth, and when 1n useis folded into Fig. 3, to support the portions of the collar, it being noted that the front stiffening member 14 is made of sufficient height and width to accomplish this purpose.

While the invention has been described with particular reference to the details of construction, the same is not to be considered limited thereto as many changes can be position, as shown in made and still full within the scope of the invention set forth in the following claims.

What I claim is zl. A soft turned down collar comprising a top portion and a neck bandprovided with button. holcs, a stiffening membersecured transversely midway of its length to one end of said neck'band, said stiflening member having a button hole which registers with the button holes in the ends of said neck band when the stiffening member is folded into position to support the front of the collar, saidstiflening member being arranged to overlap the ends of said neck band. i
